Top your dining experience off with their famous Louisiana Bread Pudding Souffle topped with a delicious whiskey sauce. It is to die for! Great ambiance, service is excellent! But do make reservations or arrive early the lines can get very long.
You know a restaurant will have great food when you see the lines to get in!! The host is very friendly and the food is out of this world! Not to miss...the souffle bread pudding for dessert!! They don't take reservations and is 1st come 1st serve, but the outside music entertainment will keep you occupied and the food is worth it 100%!!!
the meal starts off with a bread basket of 5 different kinds of fresh-baked breads! including a fabulous corn muffin - highly recommend.
the food is extremely good. the hurricane drinks are very good, even if they're not particularly strong. the singing on saturday nights is a bit hoaky, but i found it fun and even sang along.
with cajun tunes playing outside on sat evenings....sing-alongs going on inside....and food that is amazing this is a great group and couple venue (which there are really not that many out there that can do both). we both had blackened fish which was very good - but the souffle is what it is all about.
The Palace is a must if you happen to be in Santa Barbara. It was recommended by 2 different friends, so we thought it would be worth going... well, we don't regret it. First you should know that they don't take reservations and they don't take name: you have to patiently wait in line to be seated. We were fortunate to go there on Saturday evening, night when a New Orleans band is playing in the front. It was fun and made the wait more enjoyable!!! Once there, the service was perfect, they brought us 5 muffins of different flavors right away and then took our order: They have a large variety of cocktails and their blackened steak/fish are very tasty and served with steamed vegetables. I recommend that you keep space for the bread pudding souffle that was the most fantastic part of the dinner. I wish I hadn't eaten so many muffins early on... At some point during the dinner, everyone start singing and raise their glass. It makes for a fun atmosphere and it is perfect for any occasion. No wonder it has been rated best cajun restaurants in the country by Zagat! I will go again, definitely!
I highly, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the santa barbara area. It is certainly not your typical restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and loud...the wait staff is slightly eccentric...In fact, the highlight of any meal here is the mid meal toast. Everyone raises their glass (including the staff) and sings a song...Really is great fun.
The food is great (mostly steaks) and apparently their souffle is out of this world...I personally am not a fan of that type of thing.
Bads...no reservations so in order to get in people often wait 1-2 hours is line...well worth it though
Noisy...this is not a place for a quiet romantic dinner
