Unless your one of the cute servers bartenders are paying attention too you won't get service . Bartender looked right at me grabbed bottle of wine poured a glass then went down to other end of bar to continue conversation with servers. Good luck suceeding with that type of business plan.
My husband and I USED to love this place. After visiting the Strawberry Festival this past weekend (5/21/11) I decided to take my friends for dinner. I was SHOCKED at how much this place has changed. First of all the place was dead, but for whatever reason still ended up waiting over an hour for our food. My ceaser salad was all wilted and my clam chowder was cold, my son's hot dog was served on a hamburger bun, and my friend's steak was very, very bland. Considering how much the steak cost you think they would have at least put some salt on it. I had to ask twice for a refil on my ...water! Everytime we needed something we had to ask the bus boy to grab our waitress because she nor the hostess were no where to be foiund. Every time people came in to be seated they would walk in and ask a waitress if they could just seat themselves. I was very sad to see what this place has come to be. I would be willing to forgive the service as long as the food was good BUT I can't even say that was the case here. Seriously, save your time and money and find another restaurant.
The staff seemed very uninterested in serving our needs, we were there for my wife's birthday. They did not bother to tell us that the full restaurant was downstairs until after our (terrible) meal was over. It was overpriced the food was mediocre and the service was the worst. I have been to nicer places on the beach in Malibu that do not over charge for their meals. One note, it appears that the only hispanic or latino people they care to have in their establishment are either in the scullery or the kitchen. STAY AWAY!
I took my mother there today for brunch and I have to say this was the worst and over priced brunch I have ever had. Not much of a selection and what they had was not good. I will never go there again or recommend it to anyone. Plus for a table of four they automatically added on the tip and they were generous to themselves by adding 20%. It was 171. for four and if it was good I wouldn't mind but it was terrible and I over heard other customers saying the same.
I've been here twice for brunch, and both experiences were great. Good food, amazing views, and friendly staff. I've read the reviews that noted the push for table turnover, but I didn't get a sense of that at all. Maybe dinner is different, or I've just been lucky. Based on my experiences so far, I'll definitely go back.
Today is my son's B-Day so I took him there tonight for dinner, I couldn't have been more disappointed. We both had steak, I had the ribeye which I ordered med/well, it was dry and the only taste was of char/burn, the veggies were tasteless as well. We had sauteed mushrooms which tasted as though they were boiled, and again no seasoning. The price of dinner and drinks was $100.00.
So far I've traveled to 35 states and 4 countries, this is easily the worst meal I have ever had. I must admit that tonight was my second visit to this resturant, this time worse than the last. Tonight was my last time for this one.
The owner is very rude here.: All the owner cares about at this restaurant is table turn over. It doesn't seem to matter how big of a tab you run up, this owner practically pushers you out the door in 90 minutes. While this place has a very nice view, the food really isn't anything exceptional and if you take into consideration the average food and the aggressiveness at which you're encouraged to leave, it doesn't add up to a very pleasant experience. Try Scotch and Sirloin in the Ventura Harbor for better food and a more pleasant experience.
