We were surprised at how good the food was. I usually hate going to new Mexican restaurants with my husband because he is extremely critical of Mexican food (He was raised by his Mexican grandmother who knows how to cook!). We both ate every bite and enjoyed the food here. The vegetables are fresh, cooked in the small kitchen where you can see it and we would definitely go back! I can understand how some people would say the food is plain, but what they are missing is that Mexican food here is to be enjoyed by the salsas and/or guacamole - so I can understand why some people here would say the food has no flavor. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of their rice. We ordered a bowl for my daughter, and it wasn't very good. Yes - the place is a little hole in the wall, but I do recommend you try it. Thank goodness we got there right before the line got huge - it went all the way down the street in a matter of minutes - we only had to wait behind three other groups :)
Way over priced! The food was cold. The chicken has no flavor. The costia was cold and the meat was tough.I read the other reviews and turned down 100 other SB restaurants, don't make the same mistake!I felt robbed and sick, when I left this place! The most over rated spot on earth!
The food is so good we will drive from Seal Beach just to have a great meal. We have never found another place with such quality food. I do admit if someone had not told us about it, we would have never stopped.
The Best Mexican food...EVER!!! Not sure it is authentic, due to its creaminess, but trust me, you should not visit or live in Santa Barbara and not go to La Super Rica. Simply the best. Also try the #14.
