Maggies at State and A, Santa Barbara

We ordered several appetizers, all good. The fettuccine was exceptional, and at a great price. Service was so, so.

Attempted to get some lunch here today as I've been here many times. This is a seat yourself, low-key restaurant. As soon as I and my friend sat down a hostess brought us menus. She did not greet us and did not respond to our greeting. She merely said here are your menus in a very rude tone. My friend and I sat there for about 10 minutes with our closed menus ready to order. Within this time period several waitresses walked by, none of who acknowledged our existence. After waiting 10 minutes and not even receiving any water we left. The hospitality was horrible today! We ended up going to Pascucci which was excellent as usual.

The food was good I had the New York Steak and my wife got the Fettuccini chicken, the steak was perfectly done, my wife’s pasta was very good as well.

This place is standard bar food, in an upscale restaurant location. It does not know what it wants to be; a family, fun restaurant, or a dive bar. The food is average, at best, but is truly subpar when you compare it to what is available on its street.
