My husband and I went here on date night and it was just what we were looking for! Great ambiance, with Frank Sinatra playing. The pesto that is served with the bread is to die for, next we had the calamari which was just perfect! We ordered the sausage pizza with mushrooms and it tasted so fresh, one of the best pizza's I've ever had. It is a bit pricey but for a great night out with terrific food I will definitely be back!
It was dispointed ! we went to so many fine dinning and casual restaurant before we came to Verona Trattoria in Camarillo. This is the 1st time we learned that they charged for bread when you spend more than $75.00 dlrs for dinner..I will tell all of my friends and family about this at Verona Trattoria !!! It is ridiculous to us comparing with all the other fine dinning restaurant in Ventura county.
First of all, the relatively small size is great; this restaurant has a cozy, embracing feel about it, and that's hard to find in Los Angeles. Second of all,
after being seated here, we were treated well (not too much attention, not too little, but just right). Third and most delightful, the menu! We had the carpaccio (great portion, great original sauce, large capers, generous salad) and thin, roasted eggplant slices stuffed with melted mozz. cheese, served with a terrific tomato sauce, accompanied by a basket of just-right hot breads and a dish of pesto-olive oil for dipping. We had to choose from Filet Mignon (4 different presentations), as well as veal, chicken, shrimp, and specials of the day. We also had salads (Caesar and house) and both were good. Perhaps if they have Osso Bucco, we might need to relocate to the area.
We needed a great dinner; we got one!
