Esther's Taco House, Placentia

Horrible! I have gone there a few times if friends or biz. associates plan to meet there. The food is not very good and the chips are gross. They are dripping in grease and hard as a rock. The service is not good. I just called to make a reservation for my boss (they usually do not take them, but they took one a week before for her). The man on the phone kept calling me a liar, was yelling at me, and never apologized. I asked him why he was being rude to me over and over and he just kept saying because you never had a reservation last week. He said he was the owner. His customer service is horrible. Do yourself a favor and don't go. I would not take the food if it was free unless I got to throw it at the owners face.

Average food, horrible service. I started out liking this place when it first opened, but their service went down the drain super fast. I can remember on numerous times waiting for someone to take our order, to bring the order over, or to refill a drink. Most of the time the place was half empty and enough staff to cover everyone. The servers were borderline rude. I have had numerous meals severely messed up and could not seem to get anyone over to take care of it, often times having to take it up to the counter myself. Once 3 of us went for dinner and had absolutely the worst experience and when we received the change from paying our bill we left only that as a tip. The owner’s son came running out after us and chased us down in the parking lot and said “here I think you left your change or did you really intend to leave this as the tip because you didn’t leave one for your server!” Do they really think that bad service needs to be rewarded? And who the heck comes chasing you down in the parking lot for their tip? Needless to say that was my last visit for a very long time. I ended up going back after 4 years because we were super hungry one night and they are only down the street from us, again the service was just the same, completely awful. I am done with them, their horrible service, and their mediocre food.

We like to eat there. We used to eat at Esther's when it was in Downey. They have early dinner specials that are reasonable. They also have catering. We tried that twice and were pleased. They limit the catering hours so it is not available during their busy restaurant hours.

Eshter's is a great neighborhood restaurant. my family has gone there for years now and every single time it is more than delicious!!!! The service is always wonderful and very friendly!! go there, you will definitely enjoy it!! =]

This place doesn't try to be pretentious or have silly gimmicks they serve simple, tasty Mexican food. I've tried most of their menu and have found the foods flavorful and satisfying. Nothing truly awe inspiring but also, nothing truly bad as well. They make fresh salsa in the store and it varies in heat from day to day but it is always good. Their tortilla chips are also made fresh in the store and tend to be a bit oily for my tastes. They do have something which is sorely lacking from nearly every Mexican restaurant I've tried. They have bottles of El Yucateco hot sauce at every table. Truly the greatest hot sauce ever. I eat here regularly and will continue to do so.

Great food and friendly service. Chile rellenos are some of the best.

Food is Super!! always the same..and thats a good thing :) Service.....always have been bad!! :( there..are a couple of people there tho that are on top of it...not very offen tho :( You get two different kinds of Salsa Yummmy!! Yummy!! Go...you will love it!!
