Shiki Japanese Restaurant, Orange

Now that there's a new owner this place is the only sushi place I'll go to again. Three people ate until we were full for about 50 bucks. Try the fever roll with baked scallops on top. The chicken teriaki is a great meal for only $8.95 at lunch time. Comes with miso soup, salad, sushi or sashimi, the teriaki chicken and some little side dishes. I cleaned the plate. The owner came to the table and personally made sure everything was perfect for us. Highly recommended. Green tea icecream or the fresh orange is a good dessert. Sit at the sushi bar, the teppan tables or the regular tables.

Absolutely, positively... without any doubt: a great tasting moment! our first visit made us try the Ibachi. The chief was an artist. Food became colorful! Then we tried the Sushi Bar. One word: delicious!

From the second we walked into the restaurant, we were well greeted and quickly seated. The waiters were very friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant was very warming. The food (including the grand sushi bar) was delicious, and the portions were perfect. Ever since I have eaten there with my family, I have wanted to learn more about the Japanese cuisine and delicacies. Overall, the entire evening was wonderful, and Shiki has now become one of my favorite restaurants!

We have been to many sushi restaurants around orange. This one is definitely tops in our book! The wait staff is excellant, the sushi chefs take great pride in thier work and they have always have fresh Uni!(very important for any place that serves sushi) Highly recommended to all our friend and family, and now you! :) If you want to eat in a good atmosphere, have great service, and enjoy fantastic sushi without taking a huge bite out of your wallet, then you need to try this place! You won't be dissapointed!

I went to Shiki after reading all the posts here, and I wasn't disappointed. The service was great and the food was good. Not bad for a Japanese restaurant in Orange County.

Since the years i have been coming to this restaurant...the day i stepped into it with its new ownership i couldnt even recognize the place! from the bathrooms to the new sushi bar it was overall the best restaurant i have been to in years. The waitresses are all splendid and the new owner is a very nice guy. i cant wait to go back again so i can sit at the sushi bar! Everyone should go to Shikis because i guarantee you will have a great time and love their food. Best of luck!

For years we've been going to this wonderful restaurant. We've seen the super changes with the new ownership & I personally requested he change not the chef nor menu but the astethicts of the restaurant. period. so far he has. The restaurant has the homey- warm feeling you want when you go to dine & have a wonderful meal. The portions are out of this world & there is always a waitress to suit your every need to a T - Try it and I'm positive you'll be going back for years - Matsu's - Benihana - Kobe -- Beware! you're in trouble with Shiki around!!!
