The words on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty say: acoeGive me your tired, your poor (Your Pizza Starved) your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free.acIn 2001, I started Mammaluccoac2s because I wanted a home for acoePIZZA STARVEDac East-Coast transplants who moved out west to California. After years of searching and being disappointed in establishments that claimed to be New York Italian, I put my money where my mouth was and opened Mammaluccoac2s.
I went here for a nice evening on the patio, and it's nothing short of five stars. Two negatives- I ordered the Rigatoni with Butter and Parmesan cheese, spaghetti came instead. Also, the cheesecake is frozen, too cold to eat. I would eat here again.
Great food and a great value. I work near Mammalucco's, and eat there at least once a week. They've got a great selection of pizza by the slice at lunch - everything from simple cheese pizza to gourmet slices, as well as calzone, stuffed pizza, stromboli, and even cortini - and the slices are huge! They also have a full dinner menu of Italian standards. Try the lasagna; bring an appetite becuase its a big portion. Plenty of NY photos and memorabilia to take you back to the boroughs. It's New York flavor right here in Brea. Who'd a thunked it!
Awesome! I must say the food is great! If you like New York style, you will love this place. Everything tastes as if it was made from scratch (whether it is or not, I don't know). The owner is always there and is always very nice and professional. Always had very good experiences when we've been here.
They really have Great Pizza! I never tried anything else, coming from Jersey myself it's hard to find good Italian food or Pizza. But I would recommend their pizza to others. Pricey but Very good Pizza
When you see a fleet of cop cars and police motorcycles parked out back and the local police have their own table, you know its going to be good. Cops know their city better than anyone and that includes pizza places. Mama's, as the locals call it, is top notch. Great for a quik lunch or a relaxing sit down dinner. John is always fun to talk to and he has a staff of cute waitresses too!
Eh, I'm an Italian guy from the Bronx, New York City. I know my pizza! This is the best pizza in Orange County, basically the only pizza I'll eat in the O.C. The other meals (pasta, stromboli, calzones, etc.) are also authentic and excellent. The owner is a really nice guy. The live jazz music on Friday nights is very cool.
