Jagerhaus, Anaheim

I am always looking for German food in OC but sadly the resturants are far and few. You would think that Anaheim which had a large German population at one time would have more German food. My boyfriend and I stopped here one night for dinner and thought it was really good. I had the turkey schnitzel with red cabbage and potatoe pancakes and thought they were all very good. My boyfriend loved his sauerbrauten (probably spelled that wrong). They absolute best part was the german chocolate cake. We ordered a piece to go but it barely made it out of the resturant. The cake was moist and the coconut was heavenly. The owner was a very kind lady who spoke to us for awhile and made sure we had everything we could need. I only gave this place 4 stars because I thought the inside was kinda strange. It also felt kinda empty inside even though there was a lot of people dining that night. I guess the decor was sparse and it felt a little cold to me. But the food was good and the place was clean.

Had the corned beef and potatoes basic and good. Also tasted the Chicken Cordon Blue. Tender breaded chicken with a nice cheeesy sauce and black forrest ham inside. Been here many times good brats, cabbage rolls, pork tenderloin and great sides, potato pancakes, saurekraut and spatzle.

The food here is very very good. I spent 2 tours in Germany and the food here is just like being there. My only problem is that I have been there in the mid afternoon when it wasn't busy and one of the staff was sweeping the rung with a broom. Sure it was one the other side of the resturant, but once that stuff is in the air who knows where it is going to land. Take my advice go there when it is busy.

This place was great. It was clean and welcoming. I don't know that what last person is complaining about. The beer selection was small but the quality is what counts. No Coors or Budweiser here. The potato pancakes were excellent and so is the potato salad. Well worth the trip.

I really enjoy this restaurant. I come from German heritage and this is the only place in Orange County I know of to get an authentic German meal and a great staff

I really enjoyed this restraunt. My dad took me here for the first time when I was little. We has this pasta covered in gravy I am not sure what it was called and I had rabbit. It was really good and they have great german draft beer. Very unique decor and it really felt as if you were in Germany.

This was a HUGE disappointment. First, nobody in there is german! Second, it is the farthest thing from authentic german I have ever tasted, AND whatever it was, it didn't taste very good. Third, the pricing is outlandish for the quality and portion size. I will admit the staff is friendly, but the only thing german about this place are the artifacts used to decorate the place, though even that was done in terrible taste! Don't waste your time here.

the braised lamb shanks are the best darn things i've ever eaten.

In a pinch this place will do. The decor is fine but worn. The food leaves you wanting something better. This is typical of german places here in the States. If you're trying to impress a girl this ain't the place. With the lack of good german restaurants I can understand why people go to this one. When you get off the freeway it is easy to pass, go slower and keep a good eye out.

IF YOU WANT TO GAIN WEIGHTS AND CLOGGED YOUR ARTERIES, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE AT. MOST FOOD ARE FATTEN DISHES. THE DINING TABLE AND CHAIRS SET UP ARE LIKE PICNIC STYLE. IT VERY OLD INTERIOR DESIGN. IT IS NOT FANCY PLACE TO ATTRACT YOUR PRETTY GIRLS. SERVICE IS VERY UNUSUAL. IT IS LOCATED IN A UNATTRACTIVE,EYE SORE SHOPPING PLACE
