A theme cafe in Downtown Disney District, the Rainforest Cafe is a fun destination. Bringing to life the true 'Rainforest' ambiance with greenery, waterfalls, and animated apes, the cafe is a hit with youngsters. Live parrot shows are held outside the restaurant everyday from noon to 6p. They serve sumptuous cuisine from all over the world and comes in good, large portions. At the Rainforest Village, you can pick up mementos, jewelry, fashionable apparel and accessories for your kids' rooms.
went here for lunch when bf and i went to disneyland, delishhh but boo on the price :( but i guess you re paying for the huge portions and the awesome atmosphere right?? haha
super cool staff, only took away a star because of the price.
Our family ate here on August 7 and my husband felt sick an hour later. That evening he was violently ill with food poisoning. I know it was from the restaurant because we all had a cereal bar in the hotel the morning of, nothing in the Disney park and a peanut butter sandwich for lunch that we made in the hotel. Nobody else in our family was sick in the days that followed. My husband ate fish and chips here with fries and coleslaw. The GM, Kevin, was great at following up but was denied the ability to compensate for our meal that evening. It is a company that thinks little of their customers.
I've been here a few times and everything was cool but the last time i received my check, the server asked if i wanted change back? hahah I mean I know I have to tip and all that good stuff, but I thought it was a little weird she asked if I wanted change back. (total came out to be 30 something and I paid with a 50) sooo idk it was the first time I've been asked if I wanted my change back
This is another chain restaurant and ...ambiance plus consistency will pass the test. First, the ambiance test. Let's see... located in Disney... very popular... definitely high score. Now, consistency... the food was on par with other Rainforest Cafe we've been to so the place is good there as well.
Anyways, now for the review. The restaurant is very popular. So, plan to eat during odd hours like in the morning or late lunch. Dinner time? forget it! the line wraps around the building twice. I like the entertainment value added to the dinning experience. Very original! The verdict? It's a yes but only for special occasions.

I was there with my daughter and friends and the service was terrible not to mention the workers. I accidentally left a small bag in the restroom and the girl that was cleaning the place threw it in the trash. She saw me coming out of there, with my 3yr old daughter, and should have turned the bag in (lost and found) or something. When I asked the manager to find the girl that last cleaned the restroom, he said he will and he never got back to me. After 40mins I went back and found the girl and she said she threw the bag and if I wanted the bag I would have to get it myself. She was very rude and had an attitude when I asked her if she could get it for me with some stick or a broom. I left the restaurant after spending most of my time trying to find that girl and getting the manager to help me. Never will I go back to this restaurant!!
On 10/10/10 my son and my daughter had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. A few hours after dinner, my son had ALL of the symptoms of food poisoning. Then a few hours later, my daughter joined her brother in being sick We are guessing it was the Clam Chowder since they shared it. This used to be their favorite restaurant because they weren't aware of the high prices; and they tolerated the average food.
There are LOT OF REVIEWS of Rainforest cafe but I decided to include this review out of KINDESS FOR THE SAFETY AND HEALTH of others who may get as sick as my family after eating at the Downtown Disney Rainforest cafe. Our meat was under cooked and red, discovered after some bites had been consumed. We had diahrrea and nausea, and chills within hours following our meal and this put a real damper on what should have been a fun trip. We are Safari club members and the certificates sent to us to use at the restraunt were being limited by management, although I had talked to the Safari club directly before we went and they said they allowed us to use the certificates and the Safari club together. The food prices are EXTREMELY high for the quality of food. They serve skinny fries like they serve at Mc Donalds. They waiter said they have alot of them returned to the kitchen. The fries are better at Applebees, Denny's, etc. This we can tell you, after we recovered we went to the Denny's near the main gate of Disney and had an awesome meal, Great food , and they excepted our coupons. The service was great and no one got sick. We had all you can eat soup and salad for $6 each, That's cheaper than the kids meal at Rainforest which has a $7- $8 price for their kids meals . Save money, live healthy don't eat at Rainforest cafe in Downtown Disney.
I went for my birthday on Sunday. The host didn't know what the wait time was and almost made us wait 30-40 min when there was actual available tables for less than a 5 min wait (we overheard the other hostess correcting her). Our waitress was super nice and but when our meal came my plate was forgotten (happy birthday me!) what was was even funnier that our entire table ordered the same thing burgers and fries so its not like our order was complicated. By the time my burger was ready everyone else was almost done. Not the experience I was hoping for, and no real attempt to rectify the error. sadly disappointed.
I've been inside the giftshop in Vegas and thought it was a pretty cool place so I just had to get the actual experience while being in the Disneyland area. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. The workers were not eager to serve/help us. They repeatedly messed up on our order, sent our food to the wrong table, etc; Our waitress was polite, however, many hosts had bad attitudes. The food was NOTHING special. The appetizer was bland. I had ordered one of the pizzas and I probably would have been better off buying a frozen one and cooking it on my own. The decorations and theme is awesome, but I would not recommend it for dining. Especially for how pricey it is.
