Good food, however the customer service needs to improve. Most of the waiters have ZERO personality, and as one review mentioned...they just stare and stare. I do agree that it can be a little cold inside, as far as the feeling/atmosphere, but I go for the food, not the people. There are a decent variety Persian restaurants in the area, so never just settle on one. My all time favorite Persian restaurant is Raffi's Place in Glendale, CA. Wonderful food, great portions, always busy. Mmmmm so good! Happy eating!
This place is amazing. I love Persian food and this is my favorite place to have it at. It's such an elegant place to enjoy fine quality koobadeh and the desserts are just sinful! Service was great and the waiters are very accomodating. A must try for anyone who enjoys fine middleastern dining.
I went into this restaurant with my girlfriend and we both ordered the barg kabob. I have to tell you that they have the leanest and juiciest barg kabobs. On top of this, they have a wide variety of beverages. Most importantly they have a bar which can serve any kind of alcoholic drink that you desire. The downside to coming here is that I live in the valley and it is located in Santa Ana. This means I have to drive over an hour to taste there delicious food. As for the ambiance of the restaurant it is very upscale and a great place to take a date. There is a small outdoor sitting area where you can smoke one of there cigars they have on sale or you can just chill and relax to the sound of the nearby fountain. In addition they also have a banquet hall upstairs for large parties. As a result of the ambiance and great food, I rate this restaurant as above average and highly recommend it to those living in Orange County.
We went with a group of 7 for a friend's birthday party. We were seated promptly, but that was when everything just got strange. The restaurant looks like a cold, old museum. We were supposed to be serviced by a friendly, younger waiter, but somehow ended up with an older, rude, and impatient waiter. I'm surprised they even let the guy wait tables as he doesn't enjoy speaking to people. We were not given any recommendations, and he just stood in the corner staring at us as we were eating/talking, it was uncomfortable. We expected so much more from a highly Zagat-rated restaurant. We had guests drive from all over LA and Orange county, and no one wants to revisit the place. The food was good, many of us ordered their best Naderi filet mignon dish which was tasty, and some of ordered the #7 combo consisting of filet mignon, chicken, and fish. The fish tasted SO fishy and was definitely not fresh. I didn't even take the leftover fish home to feed my dog, afraid he might get sick eating old fish. What a mistake! The menu said they only serve the fish Fri-Sunday and we ate on a Saturday night, I can only imagine how old that fish was... By the way 18% tip was added to all groups of 6 or more - so it was just bad added on bad. No one we received no service, and then poor service. Our friend who was there celebrating his birthday, was not even offered dessert. We ended up going to Golden Spoon instead.... Beware of this restaurant - we will not be back!
I miss it every day! We moved from Santa Ana to St. Simons Island, GA, and the one thing I miss is Persian food from Darya. There are no Persian restaurants in Georgia! If there were a way I could get Darya to ship to me, I would order. They have the best.
Absolutely delicious. I've been to just about every Persian restaurant in the area and Darya's blows them all out of the water. The food is excellent, and the service staff is extremely attentive. Sure bet!
