Description

Located in a restored Victorian home, this restaurant serves luncheon and classic high tea. There are four dining rooms and a tea garden in front. The in-house art gallery features artwork by owner, Audrey Heredia. Meals are made with organic vegetables grown in the garden. The menu changes depending on the season, and includes salads, soups, sandwiches, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, shepherd's pie, pot roast, Cornish game hens and more. There is a full bar and a good selection of wine. No matter when you plan to come, it is a good idea to call first, as hours are subject to change anytime.

I love McCharles House! We have been coming here for years and the ambiance is so peaceful. The teas have all been very warm and tastey! The history of the house with the period decor adds to the experience that no other tea house comes close to. I highly recommend McCharles House to anyone who appreciates a quiet, relaxing afternoon tea. Good food, good teas, good service, great atmosphere!

Worst (Dinning) experience ever

There were absolutely no highlights - the food served (special mothers day menu) could only have cost them pennies to prepare but we ended up paying a whooping $170.00 for 3 ppl! We were served only weak, luke warm tea offered nothing else including no water. The 'historic' house was crammed full of vintage things but looked dingy and cluttered. I really want to go on about the food, but it will just infuriate me more. Awful, awful, awful the most expensive amount of money I have ever had to pay especially when it was only thimble sized and I might add stale and unappealing. Do yourself a favor and skip this jip joint!!
