Mandarin Restaurant, Fountain Valley

Food was decent, service was awful. First time there and probably the last.

What Chinese restaurant has good service??? I don't know of any... maybe in China. But I must admit this restaurant's food is better than most I tried. It is alway a good sign if you see asian eating their own food... And here there's lot of them.

Probably the best chinese restaurant in FV. I like their Chicken and sliced bamboo shoots, Hot and sour soup and shredded beef and celleries. The environment is quite roomy and restaurant has plently of parking spots. Am a regular for 5 years.

I am trying to find a good place to take out of town relatives, my spouse wants to go to Mandarin because it's close. We have been to this place several times, the food is very mediocre, the service is mediocre and I agree with the posters about the attitude of the staff. In our experience it's been very poor. I am NOT taking family here and I'm battling with my wife because she doesn't want to drive farther...I say if driving farther gets us good food, good service and nice atmosphere then off we go!!

This is a great restaurant and we have been customers since 2003, so 6 years now..place is very clean, the bosses make sure their customers are treated right and leave happy..i will have my daughter's reception here after baptism and you can work with the manager on the food and budget! More power!

I meet former coworkers for lunch monthly at Mandarin. Each time I walk away irritated by the unfriendly attitude of the senior staff. No one ever says 'welcome' or asks us for a beverage order once we're seated. They come to the table with their pad, usually before we get the menus, and say 'what do want'. The staff never smiles and never says 'thank you'. This week, with cold rainy weather outside, they would not let my friends leave by the door leading to the parking lot. Instead, they had to leave by the front door and walk in the rain around the building to their car. After 18 months of irritation, I don't think we can take the rudeness any more. The food is OK but the owners need to visit their competitors for a reality check on how to treat customers.
