We had the tepan dinner there about a month ago, and it was very good. The seating area is great and open, the food was great and the price reasonable for a tepan dinner. We are going there again tonight.

By far the WORST sushi place I ever tried in the past 10 years. Bad sushis, awful service, very cold inside and did not want to put the heater. Keep on the bad work. I am surprise that they are still in business.

I can't believe all the negative reviews! This is one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. The California roll is amazing and so are the potstickers and chicken fried rice. For a little less than Benihana you can get the same type of Tepan dining experience and the food is just as good. This is a great place to eat. We take out from here at least two to three times per month and have never had a problem. Don't be put off by bad reviews. The food is great!

My family and I had dinner here tonight. The crunchy roll we ordered tasted like it was sitting out for a few hours so we sent it back. The manager charged us 3 dollars for having one piece of the roll. We wanted to talk to him but he refused to talk. Finally he came to talk to us but really it was him screaming about how we were wrong and for us to never come back. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I will never ever return to this place. There are far better sushi places in the area.

I've been to this restaurant twice and each time, some employee maybe the manager or owner, kept walking around the restaurant and positioning himself in such ways where he was staring me down. It was really creepy and annoying.

Terrible Service. I would not recommend this restaurant. I went here for a birthday party and they were an hour and 20 minutes behind. When I talked to a manager he said they were understaffed and our server said the reason for the delay is becuase we asked them to split the checks by couple. Very very lousy service. Will never go back.

I disagree with Jennie N below. I have been going to this restaurant for about three years now. The food is excellent! The meat is only slightly seasoned because they supply you with two wonderful sauces to dip it in. This is a great place to go and have dinner and a little saki. I have even seen celebrities at the restaurant. One time I had a famous musician sitting at the same Teppan table that we were at. I highly recommend this place. As some other people mentioned the chefs are entertaining and the place is very family friendly.

Service was great; Food was okay
By Jennie, 4/1/07
We ate at the teppan table where the teppan chef was great and his skills were entertaining. My 4 year old had a great time, and the chef was very friendly. The service was superior, and they were all smiles. We were served very quickly. But, the food was not as great as the other reviews said. I thought the teriyaki sauce could use more sweeter flavor and the chicken could use mroe sauce. I think that if the meat was somewhat marinated beforehand, then it would not be so dry on the inside. The shrimp and salmon was good, and the fried rice was the best part of the meal. I may or may not go back.

great, no-nonsense family style teppan
By Lil Mouse, 1/3/07
Ichibiri has both a teppan bar & a sushi bar as well as food served at tables/boothes. We normally sit at the teppan bar, since we bring our two kids with us. The restuarant is very family friendly- the teppan chefs seem to really love playing to the kids. Portions are HUGE and the food is very good quality. The filet is better than I've had at some upmarket steak houses. The seafood is always clean and fresh (as one would expect from a restuarant that also serves sushi). Most of the teppan meals come with miso and a green salad. One very good deal is their early bird dinner. You have a limited menu choice (steak, seafood, chicken are the main ones) and must order before 7pm any day except for Saturday or holidays. The meal is also slightly smaller than the full-priced one, but it's more than enough for my hungry hubby. It's about $12 vs. $20 for the regular meals. The teppan chefs never seem to mind if you have special requests like no onions, no sesame seeds, etc. It can get a bit busy so sometimes the service is spotty but anyone will help you if you need something. We usually order something from the sushi bar to eat while we're waiting for our teppan. We've had calamari, spicy tuna cut rolls, california rolls, and fried shrimp rolls (crunchy roll). All were good, but we've never tried their sashimi (tho other people seem to like it). I gave ambiance 4 stars because the restuarant is a little spare. However, it is very clean (including the restrooms) and there are some interesting origami art pieces on the walls. Our kids really enjoy eating there and so do we. A good value for the $$, with good service and good food. You can't go wrong!
