due to the fact that i live about 3 min walking distance i have eaten here dozens of times.. its sad to say but this place has really gone down hill.. The quality of food, service and many other small details have suffered and i don't see any sign of them coming back..

Great Food. Night Time after 9pm music gets really loud so forget having a conversation in the bar area. Young surfer crowd hangout in the evening.

dave donaldson (owner) has put together two great establishments in san clemente, beach fire, on del mar, where you can shop, visit the pier bowl area and enjoy great food surrounded by a gallery of local artwork. Irons in the fire on the other hand is located off the beaten path at the san clemente golf course. quiet serene and the best barbeque around. Dave has a unique quality of making you feel comfortable at both locations. Dave is a civic minded local with an experience every local and visitor should not pass by. Good job Dave!

Overrated. Pricey. Parking and Access issues. Loud atmosphere. There are better choices out there. But has that hip feel visitors like.

Excellent--prime of pork, Black and Blue top sirloin and tons more tasty treats without one dissappointment. The service is excellent and there's a lot to look at...from the artwork on the walls to the piece of works walking around.

The food is pretty good -- the calamari is excellent, as are the avocado rolls. However, the mixed drinks are laughably small and the service is almost always terrible. Seriously, there are times that is takes 10 minutes JUST to get water --- and another 15 to place your order.

Great Atmosphere

Such a perfect restaurant for this little beach community. Your at home dressed up for a night out, or casual just back from the beach. Awesome fire place in the back, and great art COVERING the walls. The menu is fabulous, and the plantain dessert is to die for! Service is pretty good most of the time. It can get a bit loud in the later evening if you are sitting near the front.

this place has it all. the coolest bar ever. Actual wood from sc state park and beach, drift wood from the local shores and sea glass too....unreal. the food and service are top notch. all day happy hour on mondany and some of the best music around for free. if you are looking for a nice meal or a conversation with a world traveler you ahve found the place. the art work for sale there is unreal as well. it is the place where everybody knows everybody and they are not shy at all.......so come on down to the beachfire and experience something you have not......aloha

A much needed addition to San Clemente nightlife. Tasty menu, good drinks and great bands. Can get really crowded, so show up early to snag a table!
