Ramos House Cafe
A bit of living history in heart of San Juan Capistrano's Los Rios Historical district, the Ramos House was built in 1881 and retains many of its original features. Keeping with this historical theme, chef/owner John Q. Humphreys lives onsite and prepares everything from scratch - the house even has its own herb garden and wine cellar. Contemporary American fare is served up with a southern twist, and the menu changes daily ensuring the freshest of in season specialties. A truly delightful culinary and historical experience.
We had the worst service ever! Long wait, they forgot about us on the waiting list, they never cleaned our table or provide table setting until we finally got their attention. We were seated before this big party and another couple and yet they were served before us. We were given a recommendation on the menu but find out 15 minutes later they are out of it. 3 hours later and our meal finally comes so I take it to go because by this time we had it. 3 hours with a toddler for breakfast is just too long. It was supposed to be a treat for my husband for Valentines and it was so disappointing. Never heard back from management when I complained on their website.
Way overpriced for what you get, I Live in San Jaun, too bad too, it used to be expensive although tastey but now is just abusive.and food was cold. I sent a compliant to their website and never got a reply.
great great great great great!! I love this place so much! whenever i get the chance to go, i do. i live right down the street from it, and i wish i could go more often, but its a but too expensive for a daily thing haha. but totally worth it to get every once in a while =)
This restaurant is so small, its almost like you need a secret password to know where it is. Locals don't want it advertized too much so the crowds (which are inevitable!) are at a minimum. The Ramos House is a quaint little spot, with unique menu items and a dining area that is shaded by the arbors and the big trees that keep it well hidden.
You've got to have their special drink, it's a Pomegranete Mimosa.....yummmm!!! Three of these and you're KO'd for the rest of the day!
