Royal Thai Cuisine, Laguna Beach

I have lived in Laguna Beach for many years. Royal Thai is at the south end of town. The food is above average, moderately priced, but, most importantly as far as Thai food is concerned-- Extremely Consistent! This is the trick for Thai because of the various ingredients. Tom Kha Gai (chicken coconut soup) is a good example of a dish that often varies in quality from time to time at the same Thai restaurant (i.e., if, for example, they are short on the key ingredient galanga root); BUT NOT HERE. The restaurant has been run by the same family for over 20 years (another location in Newport Beach on PCH/55 Fwy); courteous, good service; GOOD CONSISTENT QUISINE. I recommend: Summer rolls (rice paper, not deep fried; Angel Wings, Chick Coconut soup, yellow curry anything, and Pots of Gold (if you are eating in -- they don't keep well for take-out). Much better than Thai Brothers, the only other Laguna Thai choice
