Fred's Mexican Cafe, Huntington Beach

Been coming here for years, food is good. Service is normally good. Only bad thing is allowing smoking on the patio next to where people eat. Im pretty sure its against the law. The server was reluctant to move us because she would nolonger be our server, (meaning she wouldn t get the tip) however we were moved away from the disgusting ciggarette smell and had a good evening. Point is, dont allow smoking where people eat. I know it s allowed because there was an ash tray

Tuesday 1/21/08 Love eating here during week, Freds is packed on weekends. Lovely second story view across from Huntington Beach Pier. I visit with my cousin who lives in Huntington Beach. We always sit outside, music is a bit loud inside. We learned to order from the smaller menu on table, portions a bit smaller but still very filling & price is less. I like the Chicken Tostada Salad + avacado along with the large blended Marguerita, so good. My cousin had the Chicken Caesar Salad & Ice Tea and enjoyed as well. Were both natives and enjoy the sunny climate we both grew up with especially in December/January. Higly recommend Freds for great food & service.

no star, waitress are so slow and bad attitude. we have to wait the food ordered over one hour. this place is so terible. no come anymore.

good drinks which were very big and cheaper than any other place in town. food was food and portions were adequate, they need to clean the partition on the deck so you can see the view better.

If you want any customer service at all you have to leave orange County and look eleswhere.

Had dinner with a group of friends and the service and food were terrible. First it took the waitress a long time to take our order and then when our food came my steak tacos were very rare, so I sent them back and they brought me another plate, and now the tacos were cold. I was so grossed out with the meat. It was rubbery! Second of all when we all got our orders we had no utensils and it took about 10 minutes to get them. The waitress said they would take the tacos off the check. When we got the check they were still on there plus something else that we did not order. I felt sorry for the waitress because she seemed overwhelmed. I would not recommend this restaurant at all!!!

I wouldnt recommend this place. Went there last night for some drinks and got seated right away but it took the waiter 10 minutes to offer us some drinks. Another 15 minutes to get our drinks and place our order. We waited like another 25 minutes to get some lousy nachos that were highly priced. People that got there after us got their food first when we order something simple. Im never going to dine in there ever again....they need to work on their customer service!!

Went here for dinner on a Saturday evening and of course, it was packed. One of the hostesses seemed like she was having a bad day so her attitude stunk. Our waitress, on the other hand, was great!! She gave us suggestions on which margaritas tasted better and what dishes were good. The food was decent, the margaritas were strong and the atmosphere was great. We will be going back.
