Spice Thai is not really conveniently located by any major attraction or freeway. Coming here is like you've found your way around in Lake Forest. The exterior blends in with the very ordinary shopping center that houses it, but the interior is bright and pleasant. The restaurant gets packed during lunch and dinner time. Crying Tiger is what everyone raves about, while Penang Beef and Green Curry are also very popular. Aside from the usual, try something different! Chef Tuey, who gained a cooking degree in Thailand, will not disappoint. Although the service can be inconsistent from time to time, take-out is always a safe bet for those who cannot wait. - Hoiyin Ip
What we had was so-so.
Kai Yang (a chicken dish) was dried out chicken--sauce was ok. I would not order this again.
Crying Tiger (beef dish) was better. Very good lime spiced sauce with that.
Got both as take out. We don't live far away, and both dishes were stone cold when I got them home. Absolutely stone cold.
Spring rolls were very good, and the sauce for them was excellent.
Will probably try again. Ordered both dishes medium spicy--and it was perfect for us.
Best Thai food I have had in Southern OC. Friendly consistant atmosphere. Try the Yellow Chicken Curry although everything is delicious. I brought a Co-worker who is Thai and a vegetarian, he was impressed with the selection and the freshness of the food. What can I say...I am a regular!
I think the person who submitted the last review must be confused with Spice Thai Rest. and Spice Thai Cuisine. The correct place with the great food is Spice Thai Cuisine with is this site. The food is excellent here. The rest. was clean and everyone was very nice. Even the owner was out and about mingling with the guests. You must try the Crying Tiger. The steak is so tender and juicy. Not to mention the flavors. I came in with two of my co-workers and they loved the food. The price is just right and the portions were fair too. We will be back for sure.
Excellent service, my girlfriend really likes Thai food. We usually go to Thaiphoon (sp?) at Irvine Spectrum, but was able to persuade her to try this place out. She was really impressed, we stopped for lunch and thought we would have leftovers, but we did not.....absolutely delicious...will definitely go back again....
I love Spice Thai it's my favorite place to eat. It's owned by a master Thai food chef and her husband and it's all her recipes. It's quaint, it's delicious, and it's affordable! I HIGHLY recommend you check it out. Try to stray from the usual cheeseburger and fries and go for something exotic!
