Disappointing meal at Mimi's. First when we walked in the hostess aked if we wanted the regular menu as well as the Mother's Day menu which we replied yes. When we sat down, we had 4 Mother's Day menu's and 2 regular menu's which the four of us shared. Next waited about 5 minutes for the server to arrive to order drinks. About another 10 minutes goes by and he comes back to take our order. I ordered a meduim steak asking him if it would be a little pink in the middle which he said it would be. When I got my steak, it was blook red in the middle. He returned it to the kitchen and by the time I got it back, the rest of my family had almost finished their meals. When I cut into it, it was totally brown which I would interpret as well-done. I decided to eat it anyway since I didn't want to prolong the meal any more than I already had.
The impression I got was that nobody really cared about our experience that day. The hostess and the server seem not to care too much and I assume that the cook didn't either. Next Mother's Day, I'll try to get my wife to go somewhere else.
A warning to those living in Leisure World! Seniors beware. My guest(s) and myself had the worst experience at this restaurant that one could possibly imagine.
I took my sister who lives in Leisure World to this Mimi's Cafe thinking it was like the one in my area. Boy, was I wrong. But what is more disturbing to me is the response I received from the Corporate office after reporting I had been injured eating at this location, by swallowing either a piece of a toothpick or a piece of grape vine that was placed on my plate. Even though I couldn't eat the rest of my sandwich, they proceeded to charge me. I initially allowed the charge to go through after they promised they would remake my order to go, and I had to get on the road to travel home. I noticed later, the container that was packaged up for me was not edible and not what I was to receive. I threw it in the trash and asked for a refund from the Corporate office. They promised to send gift certificates to me but never did, and then, they stopped responding to my emails.
I would not recommend this place to anyone and I would further advise patrons to be careful of who they are doing business with. They obviously did not take my injury seriously. Simply put, they don't care how I was served, and how I was treated as a customer, in all regards.
There are a lot of nice restaurants in this area, eat somewhere else!
Yuk. This used to be a wonderful restaurant. I don't know what they did to their menu, or what happened to their staff, but the last time I ate there the food was awful, the booth sticky and dirty, and understaffed. It needs a makeover all the way around. The prices are way to high for the less than average quality. Save some money and go to Denny's.
You must be a local resident to get on the lake, but non residents are allowed to walk around the
