My husband is from Buffalo and he actually worked at the Anchor bar. For those who don't know the Anchor bar invented the buffalo wing. I have eaten there many times. Wings N Things is the absolute closet thing to real Buffalo wings from Buffalo. Buffalo wings should not have a thick coating of breading on them which is what you find a alot of places. This is no up scale dinning experience. I would highly suggest getting a bunch of appetizers and sharing. The poppers, cheese fries, fried mushrooms and nachos and good but I come for the wings. They also have Verners which is very good ginger ale that is not super sweet and really cools your mouth when your eating spicey wings.

I have been going to Wings for about 10 years now and being a transplant from Buffalo it was difficult to find a good wing place that met my standards that I had from being a Buffaloian. Everyone has their specifications in what they like and dislike, but these are the best Wings I have had since leaving Buffalo. I see other reviewers talking about the decor and plastic forks, etc.; I have never known it to be the Ritz but maybe its just nit picking by some people. I am sure like any other business they have their good and bad days, but I have met many people who have been going there much longer than my 10 years. I guess they have to be doing something right for being there for 20 years. Just my 2 cents.

i tried to sit at a table near the screen during a football game, they moved us saying that table was reserved for "colts fans" at half time no one was in the seats so we asked if we could sit there, they said no. i will NEVER go there again, that is discrimination.

The wings were average and a little dried out with too much sauce to try and compensate. I definately prefer wingnuts to this place!! Our waitress was nice and attentive but I like a REALLY GOOD/SUCCULENT Buffalo wing, not to mention SPICY!!

Wings N Things Restaurant is good food but horrible ownership and service.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/25/09
I agree with the last posting that the owner is less than friendly. The first time I ate there it took forever to get service and the owner was watching baseball with his buddies at the very front table taking up the good seats from the customers. He didnt even care when we started talking about the service loud enough to hear, and at the end he barely said thank you, like I was interrupting him by offering his business money. I have been dragged back in the past, but I dont go if I dont have to. That place needs some serious work.... But the food is good. Slightly vinegary but not horrible.

Are You Kidding Me!‎ I have lived in Huntington Beach since 1973 and I have never been so disappointed in a dining experience as I was tonight. The most atrocious excuse for chicken wings I have ever ate. We ordered the Garlic Wings with medium hot sauce and a 1/2 rack of baby backs,. The baby backs came first and they were covered in a bbq sauce that was overly vinegar tasting. Then came the wings. They looked and tasted as if they had been cooked hours earlier and kept under hot lights the whole time. They had little if any resemblance in taste to garlic with a hot sauce that also was overly vinegar tasting. The meat was so minuscule on the bone because it had basically turned to chicken jerky in whatever god forsaken process they used to cook them. And to add insult to injury for a paltry sum of approximately $34.00 for dinner for two, we were lavished with plastic cutlery and Styrofoam plates. The high point of the experience was our waitress who was down home and friendly. Upon checking out at the register the apparent owner, who had the personality of a wet noodle did not even look us in the eye as he stole our money. Only mumbling thank you at the end of the transaction. I would drive to Costa Mesa next time to Wingnuts if you want buffalo wings that are meaty, succulent and worthy of your ever shrinking dollar. I actually feel stupid and ripped off for having eaten at Buffalo Wings and Things. I would give it less than a star but it's the lowest available rating.

PS This site has not allowed me to post a one star rating. Bummer 1 star is too much!!

Good Eats - Wings!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/09
My kids are big fans of good wings. We've ordered from this restaurant several times, but strictly for "take-out" wings. They are a very popular party food item and a success with everyone. We have found that both barbecue and spicy are equally popular. It's casual and easy, eat-in or take-out.

My friends and I live in Whittier, My buddy Jeff takes all of us to Wings n Things (40 miles round trip) about 2 times a month, What a pal!!. When you walk in, you smell the wing sauce and start to salivate!! The staff is very friendly, and dress is casual. I recommend the Jalapeno Poppers, the large basket of fries with melted Cheddar cheese (YUM!) or the fried Mushrooms and Mozerrella cheese sticks.(KILLER) The wings are MOST EXCELLENT and are crispy without being dry(dry wings are a major mistake and can cause good customers to flee in disgust) the sauces that are offered and also MOST EXCELLENT. MILD, MEDIUM, HOT,XTRA HOT,BEYOND HOT. I recommend getting the large basket of wings (half orders won't due for me) the wings are really AWESOME (the very best wings in So Cal) and worth the drive (thanks for driving Jeff!) OH YEAH!! THEY HAVE BEER!! WOO HOO!!!
