230 Forest Avenue
Don't be fooled by the crowds and the noise; they are all part of the scene here at Laguna Beach's sexy and intense 230 Forest Avenue. The lean deep room seduces you to the open kitchen, bustling bar, and concrete floors, creating a space that is part modern bistro, part martini bar, and part art gallery. It's the perfect spot to see and be seen, laid back Laguna-style. Executive Chef Marc Cohen is consistently recognized as one of The OC's top chefs. You'll be ready to award him a medal, too, after tasting his flashy-to-the-eye, tickle-the-taste buds fusion appetizers and entrees. His dishes are often so stunning that they compete with the artwork on the walls, making for a thoroughly satisfying "artistic" experience.
This place was way over-rated! The food was average, but combined with the high prices and mediocre service- plus small interior, I would have to say I wouldn't go back. Also, the patio was nice, but the interior was really small. I guess I wouldn't have been so disappointed if it didn't have such rave reviews.
I absolutely love 230! This place just rocks the taste buds to the core. Every bite is like fine art on the pallete. My husband and I have come here for all of our special dates...anniversaries, birthdays.....it's truly a wonderful, romantic, relaxing experience! My favorite is the Alaskan Halibut, but really all the dishes are wonderful!
