The Golden Truffle Catering & Restaurant, Costa Mesa

This is quite a place of contrasts.....the wait staff, the manager and all the employees are incredibly polite, friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome..i have never come across such superior customer service any any of the restaurants that i visited in southern california....the food is only acceptable, my wife ordered a pasta which was bland and insipid, she returned it and told the waitresses to make it more palatable..it was returned 25 minutes later with red pepper that made it hotter than a four alarm fire, my steak was cold but the meat was good, the ambiance is tacky and the tables are very close to each other..final thought...try it once and see for yourself...maybe you will like it

I have been a frequent guest for many years. In order to experience this unique restaurant you need to drop your assuptions of what you think your going to get buy reading the menu, instead simply sit back and enjoy what you taste when your taste buds try the creative mix of herbs spices an local flavors. Allen is truly one of the most gifted chef s anywhere . When presidents are in town they ask for Allen to cater their events. He is a gracious and wonerful man.
