Restaurant

My favorite is there is a Vodka Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. They make the blue cheese mixture themselves but, unfortunately, they won't give out the recipe. Elegant, yet casual two storied place with an extensive wine list. Menu ranges from Meatloaf and mashed potatoes to seafood varieties. Everything has always been excellent and the service is attentive without being intrusive.

White Table Cloth but Approachable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/08
This is a high end clubhouse feel from the best golf courses. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is definately posh. You can feel treated but do not have to dress up at this classy yet casual restaurant. They also have space for private events.

Consistently good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/24/08
This restaurant is consistently good. Options range from the expensive steak or seafood dinner, to a great pasta dish. The bar is also a fun place to hang out, with original drink choices. Let the bartender get creative in making your drink. The restaurant is decorated quite nicely and has 2 levels of dining. I've never been disappointed here.

Good for post shopping....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/6/08
This large restaurant is a bit too dark and "clubby" for my taste - dark interiors and large, dark furniture. The food is about a 6 on a 1-10 scale. It is part of South Coast Plaza so it is a good place to kick up your feet after a long day of shopping but not such a great place as a dining destination.

The Clubhouse has only been a disappointment in terms of food. Both times we went, the food was anything more than mediocre. This past weekend visit, the Kobe burger was not moist and the flavor wasn't anything memorable. The other item we ordered was a turkey sandwich, which was dry. Somewhat pretentious crowd. Our server was pleasant. Overall, very unimpressed.

Much better experience this time around!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/06
I have been to The Clubhouse in the past when shopping in the area and honestly, wasn't that impressed. BUT this time was a complete 180 and the four of us really enjoyed our dinner there. Our friends had been there last week and loved it so we decided to jump on the bandwagon and go with them. Very friendly as soon as we walked in, our server was delightful, our drinks were delivered quickly, and our food was exactly what we ordered and wanted. Definetly go for the Chicken Picata and don't miss the crazy dessert tray (your eyes will pop out of your head.)

Insanely good hamburgers
By John Murphy, 9/24/05
Located at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, the Clubhouse is a hidden gem. Phenomenal burgers, gigantic desserts, and private party rooms make the Clubhouse an excellent choice both for a quick lunch while shopping and for large gatherings of friends and family.

under - par is not a good thing when operating a clubhouse
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/05
appetizer comes out before your drink order, and the coconut shrimp is a re-heated mess with very little coconut and very little taste. plates are never cleared between courses. as entrees are being put down on table appetizer plates/salad plates are being removed. that is so much like ihop. food is very inconsistent, you never know what you are going to get.
