Pizza D'Oro and the DiPietro Family go together like zesty sauce goes over Imported Macaroni. Nick DiPietro Sr., his wife Mary and children opened the first Pizza D'Oro in 1968 and spent the next 10 years perfecting their Abruzzi-Italian Cuisine before they expanded? They relocated to the Costa Mesa location in 1978 and fed crazy amounts of College kids and Nine to Fiver's. Five years later, the DiPietro Family opened up a second location in Fountain Valley with the largest dining room out of all 3 to accommodate large parties and a lunch-time buffet. The oldest son "Big Nick" opened up the Huntington Beach Location in 1989 and cranked out awesome food for the Beach Culture for over a decade. Over the past 40 years, the DiPietro Family strived to bring their customers Fine Italian Food and Affordable prices. Our Family stretches over 3 generations of Pizza D'Oro employees and owners. The family invites you to come in and relax while enjoying their great food and take advantage of the many take out specials they have to offer. For over 40 years, we've been Mom & Pop restaurants. You can find Mom and Pop "Italian Nick and Mary" going strong over in the Fountain Valley Location. Their son and Daughter-in-law "Joe and Cindy" are running the show in Huntington Beach. And Italian Nick and Mary's youngest son "Phillip" is feeding the fine city of Costa Mesa. We all hope to feed you soon!
Great food and great prices! It's not a fancy Italian restaurant but the food is hearty and there's lots of it. Me and my girl dig it because we can both order one big dish of Chicken Alfredo and split it or we can order 2 dishes and have enough for a big lunch the next day. The cool thing is that we can both go there, get a cool buzz and eat some awesome carbs and sauce and get out of there having only spent $20 or so depending on what kind of buzz we wanted=)
HA! This is actually kinda funny...why? My friends and co-workers have raved about this place for quite sometime and I finally went last night and it was AWESOME! i usually make it a point to write about places I visit my first time and after reading some of the reviews today I had to absolutely laugh at VONGERMANY - dude, seriously, by the looks of your pic...well, I won't go there, but regardless my (and it looks like I'm not the only one) experience was great! Viva Pizza D'Oro! Thanks for the yummy (and inexpensive) food - can't wait to go back!
Pizza D'Oro is a good blend of affordability and great food. The all-you-can-eat meals are a bargain (and really tasty - lasagna's my favorite), and the giant slice of pizza is something I pick up a few times a week when I need a quick meal. A lot of my friends do the all-you-can-eat deals, but the menu offers a good variety of pasta and different sauces. It's not a fancy place and isn't trying to be. It's a great all-around restaurant with with food quality, fair pricing and my favorite pizza around.
Great pizza with delicious crust and sauce. Normally get pepperoni with half green peppers/half jalopinos. The best ranch dressing for the salad or pizza dipping I've ever had. Meatball sandwich is descent as well. Get a draft beer or a caraf of wine. Friendly, youthful service at low prices. Viva Pizza D' Oro!
Always good food never a disapointment, My family likes to order the family special and we land up with 2 days worth of food. When we eat in we experiment, last time we ate ther we ordered the ginomous calzone it says it is for 3 but we had 5 and took home leftovers. A great little Orange County secret.
This place is great! The food, from the pizza to the spaghetti to the lemon roasted chicken, it's all delicious! The place has a small, cute homestyle feel. My company had them cater one ofour luncheons, and it was good too. I think it's an all-around great place to eat; with friends, family or on a date. =)
The food is awesome and its really inexpensive. Its a cool little secret CM spot that has been there for as long as I can remember. Secret tip: When you get one of thier Giant (and I mean Giant) slices of pizza, ask for a big side of their spaghetti sauce to dip the crust in...SO GOOD!
