We wanted a good seafood restaurant after the OC Fair and used Garmin to find suggestions. McCormick & Shmick didn't open till 5:00 pm & one of the staff there recommended Scotts. Oysters were excellent especially the cucumber sauce; ordered another half dozen. The Ahi Tartare and the Ceviche were outstading. Very nice ambiance & excellent service. Would definitely go there again.
I took some clients to Scott's recently at their suggestion as they are local and I am not.
1) The blackened Ahi appetizer was the best I have had. This is one of my favorite dishes and I usually order it if I see it on a menu. The spices in which they encrusted the Ahi made the difference.
2) The NY strip steak was also very good. Like the Ahi, it had a flavorful blackening a bit like that seen at Ruth's Chris.
I will return to Scott's in the future.
Scott's Seafood is a quality restaurant, and no place to bring children under 3, like the other reviewer llburnes126. Didn't she know it's rude to bring small, restless children to a fine dining establishment? Go to Denny's if you want to bring several children. Seriously, that is what ruins fine dining for mature adults who know basic dining etiquette.
Scott's has excellent seafood and decent service, in a nice, well-lit ambience. Try it!
I had read some reviews that had discouraged me to go, but after having gone to Scott's, I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews I had read. To each his own. I ordered the Filet Mignon, and it was kind of charred on the outside. This was the only thing I didn't care for. Everybody at the table who ordered fish, was raving about how great it was. So, next time, I'll get the bass. I will definetely be back, with friends and family.
The food tasted like it had been prepared by a rookie chef. Not one of the four dishes ordered were impressive or remoteley good. The food was C at best and I would not recommend Scott's to anybody I considered my friend.
