I am going to have follow everyone else and give this place a 5 out of 5 simply for their taste and the quality of food they provide during the buffet lunch hour. The only thing I highly recommend doing is showing up a bit earlier at aboout 11-11:30. If you get there during the lunch hour, it would take you a long time to get a plate of food because of the line. I dont blame the crowd there because the food is delicious. I would come here instead of Natraajs anyday of the week.
I live in Los Angeles where there are a myriad of Indian restaurants offering lunch buffet. I recently had a lunch business meeting in the OC and so happened we met at India Cook House. What a spread!! The variety of dishes during lunch was large and the food is delicious. I have to say this is the best Indian restaurant in the Southland. I'm taking my wife all the way to Irvine from LA for lunch on the weekend.
I went there recently and the food was absolutely delicious. The service and interior were fine, but it was the food that really stood out. My friend and I ate the vegetarian combo dishes ... excellent.
The India Cook House is a welcome break from the boring restaurant chains that have come to dominate Irvine and much of OC. In spite of its drab strip-mall location, India Cook House shines as a great source of excellent, moderately priced Indian cuisine. If you're a fan of palak paneer, theirs is among the best I've had in Southern California. They also have an impressive lunch buffet for the bargain seekers.
