I have not been to Vincenzos Olive Tree Restaurant but I have tasted Vincenzo's cooking when I worked for him and Marilyn in their beauty shop in the 60's. I live in PA but will be sure to go there next time I visit my family in California
When I first discovered Vincenzo's here in Elsinore, they were in a smaller, strip-mall location. Being from New England, with a need
weekly for great Italian food, I was quite excited with the find. The
food all was perfect, Vincenzo is a great chef and host. He made
me feel like a local! I use to go there every week, and started
bringing friends there. The last time I went there was when a friend
of mine brought a bottle of his own wine to share for the meal, and
our party got charged an extra amount for doing that. I understand
that the place wants to sell me their own wine, but this hole-in-the-wall
kinda place didnt seem fitting for that. I could understand a more
elegant place charging under those circumstances, but it seemed
inappropriate for this place. Never went back. Too bad, everything
else about the place was great.
I eat at Vincenzos regularly, and it's a jewel in a town where even good food is hard to come by, and Vincenzos is great food. The service is typically excellent, lunch specials are affordable, dinner prices are reasonable, and food quality consistently good. I would have given them only 4 starts if I could think of one thing I don't like about their restaurant.
Went there for dinner, the price was just under 100$ for 4 people with one glass of wine each. The wait staff was good and the wait time was minimal. The food was decent, I would say 8 out of 10. It wasnt knock your socks off but was worth the time and money to drive from Temecula to be with friends who live at the Lake. I would not go out of my way to go back but if I was around the area I would eat there if craving Italian.
We were given a gift certificate - Thanks Jonathan! Oh, my goodness were we surprised. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all top notch. We will come back often.
The lasagna was the best we've ever had and the desserts unbelieveably delicious. Bring your appetite!
The first original Italian sit down restaurant in Lake Elsinore, and still one of the best. The owner can be seen at the restaurant not just in the back (or as a cashier), but in the kitchen and talking to patrons. All of their food is prepared by hand at the restaurant. All the food we have tried there is delicious. They have specials everyday, and they are definitely special. We tried the orange roughy, and it was hands down the best fish entree we have ever had. Their Cesar salad is also very good, ask for some anchovies on top, they are mild and tasty. They also serve bread with a tomato sauce which is worth the visit. Go on during the weekdays for lunch and try some of their dishes for a lower price. You will get a lot of food at a good price.
We found this restaurant through Yahoo! Local and are returning the favor by writing a review. In a word: delicious. I had the gnocci, my wife had Vicenzo's Specialty. We loved both dishes and added this to our list of restaurants we intend to frequent. The service was good, the atmosphere was casual, and it was neither too crowded nor too empty.
