This is pure and simple discrimination against customers! I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE to that café AND TELL ALL MY FRIENDS NOT TO GO THERE as well. On my way to Mountain High Resort I made a quite stop at the Mtn. Top Cafe/restaurant to use the restroom, the post on the front door said “restroom is for customers only “, so I decided to buy some hot drinks and use their restroom. The cashier charged me $8.00 for two hot chocolates when the menu said $1.99 so I asked the cashier, “why did you charge me $8.00?”, and then she replied because we used their restroom so I said you have two different prices? She said “yes”. I couldn’t believe my ears. If I buy something from them, that makes me a customer! RIGHT? THAT MEANS I HAVE THE RIGH TO USE THEIR RESTROOM IF I WANT! This is a poor and bad customer service. It is not about the money; it is about the principle of the whole thing! This is pure and simple discrimination against customers! I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE to that café AND TELL ALL MY FRIENDS NOT TO GO THERE as well.
I have been a regular customer at Mountain Top Cafe since 1967. I LOVE the place. The prices are a bit pricey BUT...... one must consider volume done versus labor involved. I have NEVER had a complaint there that was not addressed immediately. The wife and I have NO PROBLEM driving 57 miles, one way, to have breakfast or lunch, there. Also, I have NEVER seen any hassle with a customer vs. the restrooms. Don't be afraid to come in. You will be pleased, I am pretty sure.
WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS CAFE FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. WE LOVE THE BREAKFAST THAT THEY SERVE. WE WERE VERY DISSAPOINTED WHEN WE WENT THE LAST TIME. THE PLACE HAD PARTIALLY BURNED. WE HOPE THAT THEY FIX IT AND REOPEN SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE GOING AGAIN.
My family and I visited this cafe on our way back from playing in the snow. Upon walking in we were surprised to find a newly redone cafe with beautiful interior and even a fire in the fireplace. The waitress was really exceptional and we were accomodated with ease even though there were 10 of us and we had not called ahead. The meals were quick to come out and the food was great. HUGE portions. They did breakfast lunch and dinner all day and everything was great. Service, cleanliness and food was all wonderful. We now have a favorite spot to go when we come up for the snow!!
