Yesterday was the Taste of Rialto put on by the Chamber of Commerce and they were charging $25 per person to go tasting a few of Rialtos restaurants, wines & beers. Well after seeing how small the event was and making a decision of should I pay $25 for samples or just find a place to eat, we decided on looking for a place to eat.
We never wanted to try this place because we were a little skeptical about the place. To our surprise, we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. Our server Jennifer took really great care of us, she had a great attitude, fun, made us laugh and check on our table frequently to make sure we were doing ok. She even asked us if we wanted dessert. Now I have been to Mexican restaurants and I have never been asked if I wanted dessert. They normally just bring the check and want to get the table cleared as quick as possible. Not this place.
I ordered a 2 item combination plate of Chicken Enchiladas and Chile Relleno, my food was great. I am not a fan of cumin as that is what the sauce of my enchiladas had, but it wasn't over powering the flavors, so it was pretty good.
Happy Hour is a great hour. You can't beat 4-8 p.m. Most places are 5-7 p.m. That doesn't give you enough time especially when you get out of work at 5.
We all walked out of the place wanting to return and letting our friends know of the place. We were left with a good impression of the place.
I wouldn't take the word of people who have posted on here with negative comments. They were probably in a bad mood when they got there and everything just seem to be going wrong for them or they just happen to get the wrong waiter. Also, just 2 comments below mine, that comment was posted in 2009. Some Restaurants change when they see things aren't working out.
I loved the place and will return for seconds.
Hope you have a great experience.
Since the parking lot is always full, we figured this was the place to get great food... we were sadly mistaken. Our table was very wobbly and not clean when we were seated (sticky). I ordered a daquiri that came so overflooded, it ended up all over our table. Then the waitress decided to wipe my glass off with the same Clorox smelling rag she wiped our table off when we were seated. I did not even taste the drink after that! The food was ok... nothing fantastic at all about this place. Perhaps the happy hour specials bring in all the cheap skates because it's not the food!
I dined at this restaurant on Saturday December 5, 2009. I became seriously ill with a stomach infection that lasted 48 hours. Do not eat at this restaurant, their food was contaminated and I have reported to county health department.
Cucas has a cozy family but romantic environment set in a historic building that was once a train depot. The service from the waiter was excellent and the food was tasty with complimentary chips and salsa. The prices were also good.
The worst mexican food around. The dining area was unsanitary with little bugs flying around while I was eating. The service was slow and I had to repeat myself several times to get a refill or a extra side order. I will not be returning anytime soon.
