Mill Creek Cattle Company
Mill Creek Cattle Company is as much a destination as it is a truly great dining value. Located in the heart of Mentone, on the South-East corner of Mentone Blvd. and Tourmaline Ave. it is well worth the short drive from just about anywhere in the Inland Empire. Mill Creek Cattle Company serves up old style western atmosphere unlike just about any other restaurant in Southern California. Much more than just some old paint and rusting junk that so many think makes a Western Restaurant, Western. Mill Creek is the ol
Went to Millcreek in Mentone for dinner tonight to try their steak. The service was terrible not to mention the table cloth was dirty and stained. The waitress probably came to the table 4 times. The worst part was that we had to wait approx 30 minutes for a steak and prime rib. The waitress blamed the delay on my med-well order...ok whatever. Not once did she come by to say.. what the delay was. Not to mention the corn bread tasted like corn tortilla s wrapped together and baked. Despite the wait, the steak was ok but the prime rib my wife order was plated with a lot of fat. All I can say, I will not recommend this place to anyone and won t be back to this restaurant...ever.
My whole family and extended family have dined at Mill Creek since it opened and paid full price all these years. We found the ad for coupons in the Sun Newspaper and took advantage of it. We had a lot of problems using them. Either they would tell us that they did not take them, did not take at their location in Redlands, even though it was printed on the coupon. Said they were not good for takeout or told they did not take them anymore and the list goes on and on. We never knew how we would be treated when we went to pick up our order. I Called the newspaper and they told me that their employees who brought the coupons had the same problems. The owner said that he would tell his employees so we would not be hassled, but still it would happen again. I was told the short hispanic man who would take our order was the one who gave us the most trouble and he would be very rude when we picked up our order. Not even a thank you or thanks for coming. We will finish using these coupons we have left, but will not purchase anymore coupons or use Mill Creek again. We did enjoy the food as there is lots of it in the order, but sometimes the ribs are tough on the top and hard to eat, maybe overcooked or yesterdays ribs? I would give a 4 star for food, but a 1 star for takeout service when the man helps us. He seems to resent people who use coupons. Why offer them if you let your staff treat people who use them rudely.
I live right around the corner from this restaurant and I would rather drive to McDonalds than eat here. Their food is not very good. Beer and football here are pretty much the only quality thing they offer and I'd rather go to Johnny's Tacos. The servers are nice. I wish it was better because I love bbq!
I was one of 12 people that went for the Bar-B-Q buffet and Bluegrass music. On arrival we were told that the buffet and music had been discontinued because there weren't enough people there.
We told the waitress that we were there for the buffet and 3 different waitresses quoted us 3 different combination plates and prices that the kitchen would be willing to make for us.
After this our group was moved to different tables to accommodate another group.
We left and went to another restaurant.
Sorry the previous diners had a bad experience. Went today for early Father's Day lunch, service very good and food very good. Loved the Tri-tip! Had made reservations and was given choice of tables. Promptly served food, drinks refilled often, server suggestions spot on. Only bad thing to say was dessert menu so-so.
I hesitate to give this place even 1 star. Food took drinks took 30 minutes to get and it took 1 1/2 hours to get the food. When the food finally arrived, it was cold and my steak was way overcooked and tough! Tri-tip had no flavor and was cold too. Shrimp for the cocktail had no taste and was tough. On the upside, two ordered the halibut and said it was good. Our server was very nice but incompetent. She blamed everything on the kitchen.. but I am pretty sure the kitchen has nothing to do with keeping the coffee cups and soda glasses full. Cornbread was dry and gritty…
This place SUCKS food was Awful ,it was dusty and dirty the food was just Nasty , our appatizer was burnt the BBq was just gross and the potato lump was cold eww ,,,,,,never will go to this place ever again
I would give them 5 stars but the service has generally been substandard. We have a running joke in the family whether we have enough time time eat there -- but seriously, we will not go there unless we have at least 1.5 hours to spare. I don't mind waiting for food to be prepared but I don't consider that the problem, historically the waitstaff has either been overwhelmed or inattentive. However, on our most recent visit last week we had a new waitress who was very quick and attentive, so maybe things are improving.
The food is really good. I love their burgers and their lunch-special is a ridiculously good deal for what you get. Their chili is different than you will find anywhere and if you like it you will LOVE the chili size -- wow! They have a rotating daily special which midweek brings some very good deals. The full dinners with ribs and steaks are pricy but they do have other options such as the St Louis rib meal for $10 which i thought was perfect (4 good sized ribs, potatoes, beans).
