Our first trip to this place was last night, and that would also be the last.
Not worth your money. They meat selection is very limited, there is only like three diffrent cuts of beef, one pork, two chicken and plenty of
sausages. Service is good!
Having eaten at other Brazilian barbeque restaurants, we were looking forward to a wonderful dining experience. This establishment was substandard. First, the meat was of poor quality. There was plenty of fat and gristle on many of the items that arrived at our table. Second, the seasoning was overbearing in that some selections had too much seasoning and salt added needlessly. Third, there were only 2 waitresses on a Friday night so the service was slow. [Note that there was live entertainment with 2 guitarists but this restaurant emptied by 8PM.] Fourth, we ordered a ‘chocolate mousse’ for dessert that arrived so heavy that our spoon was able to stay straight up in the mixture! Quite unappetizing! I have heard that the Costa Mesa and Burbank Picanhas are excellent….skip this one in Cathedral City until there is a change! I have alerted our time share corporation NOT to send people to this establishment. Do yourself a favor—there are many other choices in the area!
This buffet style restaurant serves succulent brazillian style roasted beef, chicken, lamb and sausages. Waiters dressed as Gauchos bring swords filled with grilled meat to your table for the diner to select. The diner is may eat as much of the fine meat as often as they choose.
The meat was superb and the atmosphere wonderful. On any evening, dining in the outdoor patio is an especially nice treat.
The premise of this restaurant is great: a variety of grilled meats served up off the grill by waiters coming to your table. The starting salad bar is great with a wide variety of salads, grilled vegetables, soup, rice, and beans. The atmosphere is relatively good with ample outdoor seating and live music many nights.
The grilled meats do not live up to their promise. They are often dry and some were very fatty and/or greasy. With no sauces to dip them in, you get the full flavor of the meat which isn't always a good thing given the dryness or greasiness.
All of that said, I wouldn't be rating this so low except for the price (which, by the way, isn't very well disclosed until your final bill comes). At $32.50 per person (at least in March during tourist season) this is way overpriced. We got maybe $5 worth of salad and $8 - $10 worth of meat. It was very easy to get a seat on a Friday night during prime time and I now know why...
The food was good: interesting flavors, fun to explore each taste. Watch out --those mashed potatoes, etc. offered in addition to the salad bar/hot bar cost extra (whoops! They neglect to mention it!). Overall, very pleasant.
