Spencer's Restaurant, Palm Springs

We had breakfast there today 4/19/13 we had reservations at 10 AM and by 10:15 the order had been placed. It was after 11:00 AM that we asked about our food and it took another 15 minutes for it to arrive, and 2 of the 4 orders were incorrect.

We frequent Spencer's often. The ambience and music are top rated. However, some of the food items are very bland, though cooked nicely. The new chef needs more imaginative recipes along the line of the chefs at Cork Tree, Miramonte, Rattlesnake Club, etc. We have heard that he does none of the cooking at Spencer's. Maybe he should stop socializing with the people and workers and get back and hone his cooking skills!

Enticing prix fixe didn't liv e up to the promise with an uninspired short rib, lacking in flavor, falling flat like a pot roast. Chicken breast fared better. All in all, the prix fixe was a good value. For the well designed room, good & friendly service and excellent location, go for the full menu in the hunt for the perfect meal. The banana cream pie made the evening!

Walk into a piano playing and a low lite upscale restaurant with excellent service and food. Did i mention they are in the mountain and you have a wonderful view of both night or day out on the patio. This experience will take some time but it will well spent for the service is great too.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely lunch on the beautiful outdoor patio near the tennis courts. The service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing and the food was really good.

The food and service was outstanding. I highly recommend the Grilled Asian Spiced Baby Back Ribs in the Appetizer menu. They were the best flavor I’ve tasted and were perfectly cooked. Four of us ordered lunch and everything was delicious: Rib eye steak, Chicken Paillards w/ pecan nuts, Grilled Double Breast of Chicken, and Ribs. We also ordered dessert and it was definitely worth saving some room. We ordered three different desserts: Chocolate Cake, Banana Split, and Custard. The portions aren’t overly large so by all means indulge. It is a bit of a drive to Palm Springs for us but they were worth it and we look forward to going back.

We had a great time at Spencers and it was recommended to us by another couple that just came back from Palm Springs. We sat on the Patio. It was a cool night but the patio heaters were great to sit under. Food was wonderful and the server was a very nice lady. The Manager of the resturant made us feel very welcome and took time to sit with us and tell us a bit about the area and the history of the building. Strongly Recommend this place.
