Jalisco Cafe Mexican Restaurant

Description

For the prices of their dishes, one might think Jalisco Cafe is a competitor in San Diego's unofficial food war, "Battle of the Bertos," but their quaint dining room, encased within a room of mirrors, will ensure guests that they will get much more for their money than what Albertos, Jilbertos, Robertos, or any other Bertos offers. The menu at Jalisco Cafe consists of many Mexican favorites, along with Jamon Con Jeuvos (charbroiled ham and three eggs, served with beans and tortillas), Machaca burrito, jack cheese/green chille enchiladas, and many other great dishes. Also offered is a children's and a senior's menu, as well as free birthday dinners for those who bring their I.D. and three guests. - Erick Pettersen

I won't go anywhere else. Period. Fresh, fast, delicious, reasonable on price. The fresh salsa as well as some of the sauces are traditional and regionally excellent. There is no comparison, service was top notch.

I used to live in Chula Vista, Ca. some years ago. I loved going to Jaliscos Restaurant for breakfast and dinner. They had such good food with good sized portions for your money. I was wondering if it was still there and yes it is! I hope to go back to San Diego someday and take my kids to see where they were born. For sure, I will take them to Jaliscos so they too can enjoy that delicious homemade food.

This restaurants staff is disgusting. They reuse lemons, reuse dirty dishes, We watched a waitress dump a patron's unfinished salad back into a container of fresh salad to be reserved, reusing dishes for salad dressing...this is positively gross. I will be writing to the San Diego Health Department. Please don't chance eating in this restaurant. You could end up dead!

I have read the reviews and I have fond memories of Jaliscos cafe. I was there during the early 70's and I remember me and my family going there. I was just there in San Diego for the Comic Con convention 2008. But, alas I did not have time to dine. However, I did take a picture of myself standing outside the restaurant to bring back to family to let them know it was still there. Awesome! Next year I hope to return and finally dine on the food and fond memories I have of the beans and rice!!!! I remember the owner, a thin med. height man , he was very nice to us. Fond memories soon to become a reality next year in 2009!!

Jalisco's in IB may not have the best service but they defiantely make up for it with their outstanding food. My usual is abondigas soup and a half of a flying saucer!! I crave these things they are soo good, their carne asada is to die for.

I have fond memories of the Jalisco Cafe. I love their albondiga soup, and their huge nachos plate is to die for.

Jaliscos in Bonita
By ,
This past Saturday I went to Jaliscos with a girlfriend of mine for breakfast, in the past I have been extremely pleased with the service & the food, HOWEVER..this past visit was disappointing. My chilaquiles were dry, my girlfriends chicken was bland, and to insult to injury I asked for some sour cream for my dry chilaquiles and when the bill arrived they charged me $1.50 for 1 scoop of sour cream! I found that to be outrageous! I will NOT be going back there. Hopefully La Nena is still open..

I've been away for 11 years...

and I'm glad to see Jalisco's is still in business and still serving great food. Moved to West Central Florida in '96 and there is nothing here to compare with it. Was writing to an old friend who lives in Santee and mentioned Jalisco's and wondered if it was still around. According to the reviews, it sounds like they continue to serve great Mexican food. Use to get some mighty good, cold Mexican beer there also. Glad some things don't change.

The best in South SD
By ,
My family and I have been going to Jaliscos IB every Sunday for breakfast for the last 15 years. I recently moved to National City and Jaliscos in Bonita is just as great the other. I now bring my husband and our 2 kids too. The food has always been great and the service is the best in town. Everything about Jaliscos is top notch. The only dilema you would ever have is decided which location to go to. But either one will be the perfect choice!!

Jalisco Cafe-mouth watering, reasonable, and great
Jalisco Cafe has been serving great Mexican dishes for decades. Also located on Bonita Road across from Jack-in-Box. Serving the best Chilis Relleno in all of San Diego County, as well as tacos, carne asada, burritos, and all of the trimmings. Prices are reasonable, fast and friendly service, and good size portions keep us going back for more.
