Tourist trap. Very pricey for an old, dingy, drafty restaurant with mediocre food. The service was very good. I am sure the views are nice in the daytime but at night there is not much going for this place.

did not honor my wifes gift of a play with dinner after. charged us for dinner!!! we asked for our certificate back or at least a copy, never saw it again. Marty, you have some explaining to do. your waiters were rude . i am a lifetime resident of coronado. please do not go to this place, i am ashamed. eat in town. please do not here!!!

The restaurant was very pricey with below average service. The host who sat us did not seem interested in helping us find a good table. After being seated we moved to a better table. The waitress was handling too many tables and initially we had to wait 10 minutes to get our order started. The food was good but not worth $70 a plate. If I'm going to spend $200 on dinner I want good service. I'd recommend going to Red Lobster and skipping the Boathouse.

We went to the Boat House in 1971 on our wedding day. We try to get to the Boat House three or four times a year and for sure on or annniversity. Was always good even better after Marty became the owner. Good food and service always. Howard and Sue Alpine Ca

Too Pricey
By Julie, 1/18/06
Sorry, but once we saw the prices, it put a damper on everything. The steak I ordered was heavenly, but it was better down the road and half the price. No, we won't be going back.

One of the Best
By sue, 10/7/05
The new owner is really great. He gives personal attention to his guests. We started coming to the Boat House in 1971 and it has even been better since the new owner took over. The food is of high quality and there is good selection at a very good value. They also have a very fine selection of wine. We enjoy coming there from Alpine(90 miles) Thank you, Howard and Susie Nielsen Alpine California

Fried, expensive, but nice setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/05
The food was way over priced. I would not go back if the menu prices were cut in half. The scallops were pretty good, but under cooked. The crab cakes tasted like something you would buy from the frozen section of a grocery store. My husband and I both left feeling sick to our stomaches, and it was not from over eating. The bar tender gave us great service, but our server was plastic.
