I just love Fairouz. I could go just for the garlic cabbage. But the whole buffet has a wide variety of delicious flavor expected to totally unexpected. The folks there are super friendly. And the art gallery with the owner's pictures is great.
went to this restaurant thinking how bad can a buffet be! out of 45 items it claims it has i figured i am sure i can find something good....the only decent thing to eat in the whole buffet was hummus...the rest of the food was awful.....i do not recommend anybody wasting money here!
There's a full-on metal-to-the-pedal buffet at Fariouz, but my girlfriend and I opted to order off the menu. The food was excellent (as was the service...by the owner/artist himself). The hummos was terrific, as was the spanakopita (sic). My girlfriend enjoyed her lamb dish and salad. The baklava and turkish coffee topped off the meal. I enjoyed the funky atmosphere full of artwork by the restaurant's owner. He really made us feel welcome and then some. Next time, I'm going to try the buffett ($12.99/dinner) and some Lebanese wine (the beer was just so-so...beer from Lebanon that is).
A restaurant and a gallery!!!!!! Whatta great concept! This place offeres excellent greek and labanese food where one can enjoy fine art and healty food. Every time I go there, I am treated as a family member. The warm feeling is always uplifting and always leave recharged. The energy in that place is everywhere!
Place is highly recommended specially for art enthusiasts and vegetarians. Make sure to try their chicken lemon soup. It is a great remedy for the soul.
The food and service are probably an 8 out of 10. I had the vegeterian stuffed grape leaves which rank about a 7, the two other people with me both loved their dishes. The owner, is fantastic and makes the place a 10. Located off of Midway DR in Point Loma - it's a pretty quick drive from downtown and points east and north of San Diego. The owner, Ibrihim, aka Al, is very welcoming to discussion and after chatting with us for almost an hour as we sat outside shooting pictures of him and each other, he gave us a personal tour of his paintings and what they meant to him. Like the food, he has a variety of different paintings and prints adorning the restaurant's walls. I brought some friends who had just flown in from TN and they wanted to go back the next nite! Highly recommended.
