The service was immaculate! We ordered the Sicilian Kiss meal, a surf and turf with appetizers, Dom Perignon champagne, and dessert. The waiter made sure our champagne glasses stayed full. Numerous people kept checking on us, but since everybody was dressed so nicely in their black and white tuxedos I couldn't tell if anybody was a manager or the owner.
I hate zucchinis, but their fried zucchini was good. The steak and lobster were cooked to perfection! And oh my god, their desserts... We had the tiramisu and the triple chocolate mousse cake, and both were amazing!
The structure itself is obviously a little old but still beautiful on the inside. There's a low lit ambiance environment and fresh flowers and a candle on each table. There was a live pianist playing many familiar songs.
This WOULD be a great spot for romance if guests would respect the efforts of elegance. I read all the great reviews for this place on yelp, so my husband and I dressed up for our anniversary dinner last night. When we showed up, there were jeans and t-shirts all over the place. One lady walked in wearing just a sports bra as a top! Some guests were pretty rowdy. People treated it like it was Applebee's. They don't give this place the class it deserves. I am definitely returning with more guests with the intention of restoring the elegance, and I hope more people would help me do this!
I have never found a better Italian restaurant...ever. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Very authentic. A very classy atmosphere. The waiters wear tuxedos. White table cloths. Long menu list. Don't insult other diners by walking in wearing flip-flops and shorts and a tank top. I strongly recommend reservations. The last time I was there we saw a couple walk in and they were turned away. Every table was booked for the entire evening! My best friend called them ahead of time because he knew me and my wife were having our anniversary dinner there and they delivered a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice to our table. I felt like Donald Trump. The menu is a little on the pricey side but worth it. It would be an expensive habit to keep going back.
Not a bad restaurant. Fun atmosphere kind of reminds me of old time Italian restaurants back east. I wasn't impressed by the food not bad but I was expecting better to match the theme. I probably won't be back but glad I tried it out.
I went to the Godfather restaurant this past Nov and met the most wonderful person whom was The Gdfather himself. My daughter Julie moved to San Diego 1 year ago and she got to know this gentleman quite well. His name is Anthony. We had dinner which I thought was exquisite, and delightful and the service was just grande. Compared to the North End in Boston the Godfather meets hightly rated tops!!!!! THE BEST
This is one of my favorite restraunts in San Diego. The atmosphere is terrific, the service is great, and you get alot for your money. This place is awesome for birthdays! It's a very classy place. The food good but not great. No matter what you will enjoy everything about this place
I've never been to a better Italian restaurant! They have excellent food, classy atmosphere, and superb service. The prices were a little higher than other places I've been to, but worth every penny for the quality received. I am going again soon, and would recommend Godfather's Restaurant to anyone interested in fine Italian dining.
The location doesn’t look like much, but it is what’s inside that matters. Great food and wonderful friendly service with an excellent menu and wine list. With its ambiance, this place could be snobby but they aren’t. It is great for casual or formal dining -- for the whole family or a romantic dinner for two. They happily will accommodate anyone. The pianist in the dining room is a nice touch.
