Island Pasta has good pizza and great potential but consistently poor service, slow kitchen and buttery over sauced dishes make Island Pasta a hit or miss experience. Despite the efforts of its hard working, well intentioned owner this is no three star eatery but a five on some nights and an optimistic two on others.

This pasta was the best and it is a great place to just have dinner or lunch outside. They gave excellent service and the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant for it is family friendly and the food is outstanding and being conveniently walking distance from the Hotel Del Coronado.

This place was right across the street from our hotel and unfortunately we didn't eat there till the second to the last day otherwise we wouldn't have gone anywhere else. It was busy when we showed up but luckily there was room at the bar to eat. Make sure and show up before the dinner rush because this place fills up fast! It took us awhile to get our food (the place was packed, not the kitchen or wait staff's fault) so I would recommend ordering an appetizer. It was worth the wait though because the tortellini with chicken was amazing! Best Italian food I've ever had. When the check came we couldn't believe it was so inexpensive! We both still rave about it and it was weeks ago. If we ever get back to the San Diego area we've decided we have to stop again. I highly recommend it!

The homemade pasta and location are the best. The last time I was there was in September after my wedding. We had about 15 people and sat outside. The food was wonderful and served in a timely manner. The service was wonderful and as always the price was nothing to complain about. There aren't many places you can get good quality homemade food for a reasonable price. I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. When I have company in town we always stop by. The atmosphere is perfect for both families and couples. My husband and I will always be a customer.

Island Pasta is the best! My wife and I go to Coronado at least once a month just to dine at this fabulous restaurant. The food is superb...the fresh pasta is most excellent! The wines are great, and the beer selection is one of the best in San Diego area because they are one of the few locales that offer Ballast Point, a local treat. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants great, original food and a great atmosphere! Plus it's right near the beach, so it's easily accessible for those beach-going days!

The service was wonderful, the staff were three really friendly girls until the owner showed up and ruined not only their moods but also ours. It was embarassing to watch him approach table after table while slurring his speech. His overbearing recommendations were not only unwelcomed but borderline obnoxious. It was obvious to many of the patrons that the owner was extremely intoxicated and totally inappropriate. In our opinion the owner should lay off the sauce! We'll be back because we love this place but hope we won't run into him again.

The food here is great as well as the atmosphere. Sometimes the service good be a little better. Once I ordered a dish and was served the wrong one. THey brought me out what I originally wanted and it was free of charge. The torpedo sandwhiches are great for lunch! For dinner I recommend the 3 chees tortellin w/chicken or the scallops w/spaghettini instead of the fetticini! Once again the food is fantastic and there is definetly a great wine choice! We make it a point to eat there a few times a month....its usually our first pick!

My family and I had dinner at Island Pasta tonight on the recommendation of a local. We loved the food and it was very family friendly. The manager brought crayons and coloring paper for our girls, which kept them busy while my wife and I ate and enjoyed a bottle of our favorite wine, Rodney Strong cab. We sat outside (they had giant heaters that made it comfy), which was great. My wife had the lasagna and I had the salmon with spicy pesto... both were great! Great little place... we will be back!
