Shakespeare Pub & Grill, San Diego

I recently moved to San Diego from San Francisco & was looking for a cool pub to hang out, this place is it!! Great atmosphere excellent selection of beer & if your a fan of fish & chips it's not bad at all.Myself & some friends went to the quiz night last week after seeing it advertised on there web site, although we didn't win we had a absolute blast.I'd highly recommend this place as it's certainly different to anything else I've been to outside of SF.

The interior of this cottage looks just like an English pub with wooden chairs and tables, plank floors and a bar in the center. Good fish and chips. If you don't want to try the bangers and mash or the ploughman's plate you can also order American pub favorites like a hamburger.

This little piece of england is charming and provides an overall fun experience. The eclectic menu of item i was not used to proved to be delicious fare for an english pub. The beer is plentiful and at a fair price. If you want to hang out and relax at a nice quiet place to drink this is it

Transport yourself to a little bit of England. This authentically duplicated pub has many English beers, ales and lagers. English food, shepherd's pie, fish and chips and much more. Friendly bar tender. A fun place at the weekend. Have a quiet pint during the week, except for Monday night football.

Place was ok. The service was less then good. The barkeep seemed thet it was more importqnt to clean the bar than serve us. The wait staff was slower than molassas. Even when we walked in, we weren't even greeted. The only thing I like about it was that they had New Castle on tap. The food is definitely British style which is great. This place needs to learn more about customer service.

You want authentic British cuisine and accents to go with it you have found it, can't fault their great staff, who do sometimes get busy but who wants to go to an empty pub. Best fish & chips in town then you can pop next door to the British shoppe for a crunchie, brilliant.

Horrible service. Rude personnel including the owner. The worst experience I have had during my 6 years in US!! The waitresses are slow, rude and pay more attention to each other than the customers. When I brought this up to the owner he backed up his waitresses instead of taking care of the customer. I will never set my foot in that place again!!

This is a real PUB! Excellent selection of pub grub, their Sunday roast is great. I go here for their awesome Shepherd's pie. Obviously great selection of beers on tap, along with all of the very British mixed beer drinks (Black & Tan etc...) Football (Soccer) nights/days are packed, actually this place is usually packed especially more so when there are euro cup games on the TVs. Great place to go with friends.

Best British fare this side of "the Pond!" Loads of fun to be had from this place! The place has been around for a long time. They offer loads of big screen entertainment indoors, fab seating outdoors, lots of liquid fun on tap, and the food is to die for! Saint Patrick's Day is THE BEST day to visit; live bagpipers (if you're into that!), and they even whip up a mean Irish stew just for the occasion (the only time of year it's available here!). The place gets PACKED during the evenings, weekends, holidays, and any time there's a televised sporting event. That's gotta say something for the place right there! But regardless of how busy they are, the service is ALWAYS quick, accurate and always with a smile.

Where Brits, ex pats and their friends and family come to eat great fish n chips or steak and kidney pie, and watch a football (soccer) match. Traditional pub menu reasonably priced. Good tap selection. The best part of this pub is the family atmosphere best exemplified by the open seating, as well as the outdoor dining.
