poorly made hamburger blasting reggae music food was fresh though in & out is much better

Our family has been going for many years and find it is the best Mexican Food served in San Diego. This is where the locals go.

Great price for burger's, sides, and brew with a down to earth atmosphere (a collection of memorabilia here/there)...it's yummeee American food you can take with you and walk to the beach, OR kick back at the restaurant and enjoy.

Good burgers, bad service attitude. We went on a Thursday night, and the small burger joint in OB had a line out the door waiting for a table. The wait staff was obviously overworked and completely uninterested in customers. Tables could have been cleared faster if there was a single bus boy/girl with a tub to clear debris. Instead the wait staff had to find time to clear tables by hand carrying the debris a bit at a time. We ordered our dinner to go, but then went and stood in line for a table while we waited. It took about 15 to 20 minutes to get to the front of the line for a table, but when we did, the wait staff was quite unhappy to help us since we had a to-go order. I suppose they were worried about a tip, which I left generously - though they did not deserve it. I might not have left a tip since not one person ever came by to check on us, but I knew some one would have to clean the table when we left, so I tipped. All in all, the burgers are good (not amazing). Not sure about the health rating - take a peak at the kitchen when you are in line at the cash register. The poor service and bad attitude would keep us away, probably to the delight of the staff.

We stood in line waiting for 20 minutes to get a place to sit. About a third of the tables were empty and covered with remnants of previous customers. The staff continually walked by the empty tables but no one bothered to clean off the tables. After the 20 minute wait we left and went to Fuddrucker's in Mission Valley where we got excellent service and a great burger.

Hodad's is the last true classic California cafe located in the last true hardcore California beach city, Ocean Beach. The burgers are truly great. It's a great place to eat.

The best burgers in town! And the best onion rings I have had in a long time! Great malts too!

Possibly the best burger in the universe. Seating is not easy to find and they always seem busy so its best not to be in a rush.

Fun atmosphere, relaxed, music, awsome service, down to earth people. The burgers are huge and the french fries are potato wedges. It's the Best ever!!!
