SD Chicken Pie Shop, San Diego

I have lived in San Diego for over 50 years. The Chicken Pie Shop has been here longer then that. My Mom took me when it was in Hillcrest when I was a little girl. I now take my Grandchildren. I love the Pie and the home made rolls. It is part of San Diego. And I wish more tourists knew about it the food is so reasonable. I wish they would have a day for all the people that visited their Restaurant over 40 years. ago It would be great news story for the news And I would come.

I have been going to the chicken pie shop for 56 years. It has changed locations several times, but I still like it alot. Now they take credit cards BA and MC

I drive down to this place from Vista several times a year just to get their fried chicken livers and split pea soup. It's worth the trip!

This place is great,just what you'd want from a diner.Great food,great prices,great service.In a san diego world with space decor,snotty hipster employees,and general lame vibe,this is my new favorite.For comfort food,this place wins.

Was here Saturday with friends. Amy stated this place had good chicken pot pies. So we met here to give it a try. I guess I was expecting other things in the pot pie but it was purely chicken in a pie. Not heavily salted so that was good. It definitely warmed my tummy. We wanted to try their strawberry pie but ended up not trying it after all. Good thing it was Saturday and not Sunday because we would have been in the building when the earthquake hit.

I have loved this place since 1983 when they were still on 5th & Robinson in Hillcrest. The food is not at all expensive and consistantly good. My friends tease me and say this place is for old people with no teeth, but I don't care. The dessert pie slices are just big enough to satisfy the sweet tooth with out over indulging.

I LOVE the Chicken Pot Pie Shop, I've been going there for years. Delicious and very affordable. Nice and warm dinner. mmmmm For a few dollars you get a delicious dinner and a delicious dessert.

I have been going to the Chicken Pie Shop since birth and I still get excited about going there. In fact, I don't think I have ever ordered anything except the pie dinner. Note: When ordering the pie dinner, avoid the vegetables and get double potatoes instead!!!!!!!
