Hash House A Go Go

Description

Hash House A Go Go has earned devoted fans with huge portions of artfully arranged "twisted farm food". The chef has fun with dishes drawing on fresh produce and livestock and customers have fun eating until the cows come home. Flapjacks might include frosted flakes, the burgers are stuffed, and don't be surprised by the waffles and caramel with a Sage fried chicken at dinner. Breakfast is a favorite, but every meal offers creative plates for hungry folks.

The Hash House is very overrated. We had breakfast with our 2 kids, and the food is very average for what you pay! I had a sundried tomato, basil and goat cheese scrambler, with a biscuit and fried potatoes: They scrambled eggs, which were unseasoned, and topped it off with clumps of goat cheese, shredded basil and sun-dried tomatoes. The fried potatoes were also unseasoned and tasteless, except for the grease! The coffee was $3.25 a cup and nothing special! The kids each had a kids menu pancake, which was big, but didn't come with anything. We paid xtra for milk, $2 for a single piece of bacon (what a rip) and $2 for a single piece of sausage! Yes, the portions are big, but the food is nothing special for the price you pay for a dish! The service was good, but it was not crowded when we went. If you want to have a good breakfast for the price that you pay, you will be disappointed here! We spent $50 for our bkfst, and really found the food average. Did I mention there was an eyelash in our coffee creamer?

Ate lunch around 1:30pm,first time there. No wait, good table and service.Had the roasted chicken salad sandwich. It was delish, had fresh spinach, sliced yellow tomato and cucumber on it as well as bacon, very fresh.Ate 1/2,took the rest home.It was so good.My boyfriend had a hash with eggs, salmon and cream cheese with potatoes,a biscuit and a wedge of watermelon(which was sweet). The looks on people's faces as they walk in pointing at the food people are eating is a hoot!

My eggs were burnt pretty bad and the mixed drinks costed an arm and leg for little alcohol. Plus side: The "Uncle Buck" pancakes were HUGE! Honestly, Denny's is better and half the price.

Wow! This place was so much fun. They take supersizing to the next level. I recommend splitting a dish with someone. We went there for breakfast, often my favorite meal of the day, and were not disappointed. I love breakfast, and there was plenty of it. And it was delicious. Always impressed with the California produce, too.

This place is SO good for breakfast. I highly recommend it. The portions are HUGE, so bring your appetite or a doggie bag!

Food that looks really good and tastes boring. Apparently, if you put a sprig of rosemary on a pile of food, people fail to notice that they are eating a bland and poorly conceived concoction. Buy a sprig of rosemary, go to Dennys, Coco, IHOP, Carrows, etc., put the rosemary on your food and you can have the same culinary experience while saving money and time. Oh, the decor was cute, but you can't eat that.

I cannot imagine waiting in line for breakfast here. There was nothing overly wrong with the food per se, but they seem to get by on quantity as opposed to great flavor. If you haven't eaten in a few days or are eagerly working your way towards obesity... then go ahead and wait in line.

Hash House a go go is fantastic!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/28/09
Hash House is one of my family's favorite places to eat breakfast! The plates are enormous and the food is delicious! We always have enough food to bring home for another meal. The wait staff is great as well. We've had dinner there too and it is also wonderful! I would highly recommend the Hash House!

I was told it gets rediculously crowded on weekends so I made a breakfast stop during the week. The 2 of us were seated right away in the very small room - the food tastes amazing but we were not warned about the portion size. We could have easily shared one plate. The banana caramel pancake is fantastic - their famous smore mocha coffee would be better with a few less marshmellows.

I asked our guests if they trusted me c/ a resaurant: the resounding "NO!" convinced me it was time ( after seeing reviews for 4 ys ) was . . . . " . . .a go-go" . . . NO regrets; Super service, super Bloodies, FUN place . . . and the flying-sauces sized pancakes evoke bugged eyes! A 'keeper', a 'must' ! DOOOO it.
