South Beach Bar & Grill, San Diego

Food is good but they only take cash and you have to walk up to the bar to order a beer. Also, I don't like being carded for ID when I go out to eat fish tacos. Very crowded and noisy. It was a zoo in there. The food alone is 4 stars but the overall grade doesn't add up to much. This place is over-rated. Gary

Lobster tacos are awesome. This place gets packed so it's sometimes tough to get a table. It's worth it to get your lobster/shrimp/fish taco fix.

South Beach down at the end of Newport in Ocean Beach is a place my friends and I frequent often. The food carries this place. If you are craving fish tacos, or other various seafood. Then this is the place for you. It is a good deal for great food. The downside is that is more of a bar, than a true restaurant. Drawback: (1) self-seating and when busy seating is hard to find, (2) bar and food are paid for separately, (3) bathrooms are a tad scketchy, (4) waits for food can be long if crowded. (5) just a food and drink place, no pool tables, no bands, etc. although the jukebox is pretty good. Bottom line: If all you are looking for is great food without the frills. Then South Beach is your place. If you don't want to deal with a crowd, I would recommend going during the afternoon. Otherwise you can go and soak up the chaos.

You have to try get a beverage at the bar and then try out some of the best fish tacos San Diego has ever seen! Great tunes Jukebox for chillin' and lots of good people watching to be seen! Right by the beach! Good place for an earthy chill session and great fish tacos. Just watch out for the boy's and girls facilities, not the cleanest.

They not only have great fish tacos, the steamed clams are out of this world. The beer is cold and the women are hot. As an added bonus it offers a spectacular view of the ocean.
