I m sorry, but this place is the definition of GHETTO. When you walk in it s like you re walking into someone s living room in the projects. The books and gift items they have are dusty and look like they ve been there for years untouched. Run down, ratty and unprofessional BUT the food is phenomenal. They really should consider renovations because you would think the food sucks based on the ambience of this place.

Went to Bonnie Jeans''s for the first time tonight. I have never been to a soul food restaurant before. All I can say is YUM. It was the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. The cornbread stuffing was great as were the other sides. I'm writing to Bobbie Flay to come challenge Bonnie Jean to a throw down for her chicken. The portions are enormous and we had to take half of it home. If not having fancy decor around you doesn't bother you, then come on down. She has a coupon in the entertainment book too, so you can try for even less than the regular price. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Great food. I'm from Georgia and know my southern style food. The collard greens reminded me of my Grandma's. Everything was great. We'll be returning soon.

Hot Damn....I feel like I'm back in the South. This place has all my southern favorites like Fried Chicken, Catfish, Collard Greens and awesome Canided yams. They also have some stuff I have never heard of..like fried Mac & Cheese awesome and honey pecan glazed chicken finger licken good. Let me warn you the neighborhood was a bit scary but once you walk in..it feels comforting you walk in and smell Grand Ma's kitchen and the staff is awesome. Do yourself a big favor and check out Bonnie Jean's Soul Food you wont be disappointed.

This is the second time I've ordered food from Bonnie Jean's. The first time I had really god mac n cheese and some buffalo wings (they were tiny, and JUST ok). The 2nd time was for a friends bday. I called my order in and the lady that answered was very rude, she didnt want to read me their list of side items, when she finally did she read it really fast and with an attitude. Finally I just ordered a catfish dinner with mac n cheese and red beans and rice. I was told that my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I live 5 minutes away walking distance so It took me 2 minutes to drive there. When I got home my catsish wasnt hot, the red beans and rice was NASTY, the rice was gooey and I didnt get mac n cheese i got Candied yams instead, and I an diabetic so I couldnt eat them and they looked gross. When I called back the older lady who i am assuming is the owner answered and told me to hold on after I told her my order was messed up she put the girl with the attitude on the phone. I was told to save my food and bring it back.I never went back and I never will. Yes sometimes the food is good but their service isnt the greatest in my opinion!

The Best! I visited Bonnie Jean's today and not a bit disappointed. I met up with a few friends and we tried some of their new appetizers fried pickles and fried mac & cheese. Not figure friendly but ohh so good! I had the smothered pork chops that were very tasteful and tender with the collard greens that tasted like they we're coming out of my mothers kitchen and the candied yams that we're a party on my plate. My friends had the fried Catfish, Oxtails & Chittlins they we're all very pleased. Can't wait to go back, will have to work out an extra hour first but it was worth all those calories.

Better than Huffman's if you ask me. I had the chicken plate. Greens were great. Mac and cheese too. The cornbread was not dry like Huffman's. Good eats!

I have eaten at Bonnie Jeans many times and I keep going back. My favorite dishes are the pork chop and catfish dinner. The sweet potato pie is heavenly. I believe everyone has a certain taste scale that they compare food to. I highly recommend this cafe for food and hospitality. I must love the food because I drive about 20 miles to eat it.

It's funny how everyone keep saying that this place is ghetto, I guess I just don't recall that. i loved the food and I would recommend that if you've never tried the food...Your truly missing out. Put it this way, I'm getting married and I want them to cater my wedding.
