Food is good and fresh. Tried out a few different sides, but the real find here are definitely the sandwiches. Great location for a nice casual lunch, hope to make it back to try more.

Not that the food was bad but the price for the portion is ridiculous. I got the fish platter and the shrimp cocktail. I ended up with three miniscule peices of Alaskan cod (tasted good), a 1/2 cup of very small shrimp, a bunch of fries and salad. This cost $20! I was so irritated when I got back to the hotel and opened the bag. Oh well, live and learn but find another place. This will leave you poor, hungry and annoyed.

I stop here at least once every time I come to San Diego. Good fresh fish and other delicacies from the sea.

Fresh fish - great location - there is nowhere else!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/09
Point Loma Seafoods is a MUST visit place if you have not gone already. Very casual setting and casual dining style - order at the counter and served on paper plates. My favorites are the squid (calamari) sandwich and the crab sandwich. Fish tacos are also very good. Fantastic location right on the water - a true San Diego institution that should be at the top of everyone's list! Also, very fresh fish for purchase if you want to take it home and cook it yourself. Way better than any fish you can buy at a grocery store. There is nothing better in town!

This is what a fish market should be! Great fast service. Counter sales people full of helpful information. Great location with a view onto the water front. Eat in a patio setting or take out. Can call ahead with order. Very busy at lunch time and weekends. But worth it. Local stopping spot. Now that I have moved out of San Diego this spot is all ways the first place I return to after flying backin to town. FAMILY OWNED CHECK IT OUT!

A great place for people who like fried breading around twice frozen fish. Their smoked is good but not unless you have been smoking something illegal the rest is not so good. An insult to what it once was. What you see in the case for retail is not what you get prepared. Everything a seafood joint should not be.

Freshest Fish in San Diego
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/22/08
I met my dad for lunch during the week here. Amazing. the fish is the freshest you can find anywhere. Prices are right. People come from all over the county to purchase their fish here. Instead of going to a fancy seafood restaurant, come here, order a customizable filet/cut of your favorite fish and suprise your significant other with a couple candles and world class fish dinner at home! They'll even marinate or flavor it for you and give you tips on cooking! Not a fancy place to dine in, but the fish can't be beat. Great for picnic spot on a warm day and overlooks the bay.

I go here frequently as I live nearby and it's convenient. It's a bit expensive, and frankly, I do not understand the rave reviews at all. They usually only have a handful of non-fried options and when they do have it the fish is generally tough when it shouldn't be. As far as the fried fish, it's actually quite bad. No one who knows their fish and chips should even think of ordering it here. Yes, it handily beats a McFish sandwich, but beyond that it's nothing special for lunch. The market itself does have occasional good deals on good quality fish, however, I find Catalina Wholesale has twice the quality at (sometimes) half the price.

Great fish but a little too much fried food. I prefer the grilled fish of El Pescador on Pearl St. in La Jolla.

I love the food here, this is what fried fish is supposed to taste like. Pt Loma Seafoods is what Anthony's wishes it was!Only complaint is that the cole slaw served with all meals is tasteless.
