my metric of success is would I drive out of the way for the food later? The answer here - sadly - is no The pasta was no better than what you could do at home and the sauce tasted as if it were from the grocery store On the upside the Pizza was very nice and worth looking into if you find yourself there The chocolate cake had been frozen previously and the filling was not warm at all - the creme brulee was so so The service was friendly but they needed frequent reminders on simple requests like water etc In terms of value $70 for dinner that could be made at home is not worthwhile
Not worth driving out of your way for - and if you do buy the pizza and leave it at that
I am fairly picky when it comes to Italian food, being raised in an Italian family. But, I am happy to say that I am very impressed by Trupiano's Italian Restaurant in Oceanside. It is a fine dining experience with food that is very flavorful, authentic, well-priced, and beautifully presented. You are dining in a relaxed atmosphere that has the perfect balance of rustic meets modern decor. The service is attentive and well-exceeded my expectations. They offer a family-friendly environment, which is a plus. And, I didn't believe the hype until I tried it--they really do have the best pizza around and have won several awards! Our family highly recommends that your next and future dining experience be at Trupiano's Italian Restaurant!
A true italian restaurant in Oceanside? You got it. Delicious italian cuisine with unique flavors. Excellent food and service. Wonderful atmosphere and decor with impeccable service! The food is incredible and offers a wide variety that would suite even the pickiest patron. I loved Trupiano's and can't wait to go back!!
I love Trupiano's. It has the best tasting Italian food. Everytime i walk in, i am automatically greeted. Very friendly, and welcoming. The food was fast and delicious. I will be coming back again.. not once, not twice... but atleast another 100 times.
For some reason restaurant owners seem to think people in Oceanside are only interested in fast-food or mediocre service. There are many people who feel we have to drive to Carlsbad or Encinitas in order to find a decent restaurant. I'm happy to say that Trupiano's is the exception to the rule.
This family owned restaurant (with a sister restuarant in Fallbrook) is very good Italian food, for a very good price, and nice service. This is not high-end-- but it is a nice meal especially before a movie in the same complex.
We also feel very comfortable bringing our 7-year old there to dine. They've recently expanded their wine list so you can get a nice glass with your meal. They also have some great specials-- the butternut squash ravioli is very good.
I recommend this restaurant for those who are tired of making the drive south.
Have no idea what the other reviewer who gave them 1 star would be so upset about. I've always had personal service here, including the owner checking on every table to see if they were pleased with the service. It surprises me that someone would be this vehement. Never seen anything but happy people here.
Trupiano's is an exceptional Italian restaurant that you would not except to find off college and the 76. The small candle-lit restaurant adds a quaint, and intimate feeling. The service is great, and the food is excellent.
