Forever Fondue, La Jolla

Forever Fondue is Excellent. I have been there around 20 times and every time the food has been great. Great atmosphere for a small place. It takes about 2 hours to eat the full meal, which gives you time to enjoy the food, drinks and the company of others with you.

This was the worst value in a meal ever. A plate of raw food? I like Fondue!!! Not this place. They were too cheap to even get the fans so that they could use oil and not broth. Save the trip.

The manager was distracted and curt and the atmosphere was hardly what I expected from a resturant in La Jolla. The service was great. However, all in all, the food was average and the ambiance was tacky.

I think Forever Fondue is great, I loved it. The food and service was excellent. The resturant is on the small side, so if you are looking for a quiet dinner this is not the place. The value is great, you get so much food for a reasonable price(especially with the all inclusive dinners).

To be fair, this review is about the Forever Fondue in Fashion Valley. Recently, my wife and I went with two other couples to this place thinking that we would have a wonderful dining experience. We had read the reviews about the La Jolla branch and thought we'd try the one closest to us in Fashion Valley. It was the biggest dining mistake we've all ever made! For three couples, we spent well over $300. We ordered two all inclusives and the last couple ordered their own separate meals. The salads alone took 20-30 minutes to receive! While decent, the salads weren't anything special as we could have made them ourselves at home. After finishing our salads, our server didn't come back to us for a good 30 minutes. When she did come back, she was condescending, unhelpful, and could not articulate clearly what we had ordered. For the main entree, it felt like we were all sharing from two small plates of tiny sized vegetables, seafood, and meat! The cheese, while of better than average quality, was ridiculously priced for the portion we got. We all felt like we were being cheated at how little food we were getting! We were all still hungry and it didn't help that our server never checked up on us or even bothered to come back to our part of the restaurant. After the main dishes, we had to wait a good 20 minutes before anyone came to clear our table and even then we didn't get the deserts for another 15 minutes after that! The deserts were just fruits and mini rice crispy cakes that kids could have made better. Again, the portions were insufficient we were all left hungry. The chocolate itself tasted like the hershey hot fudge you can get in the grocery store! Overall, the experience was terrible and we all vowed never to go back to this place. It was so bad and we were still hungry so we went to the bar next door and ordered cheeseburgers, beers, and fries to satiate our hunger. We definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been a patron of this establishment since their infancy. A lot has changed in their customer service. We had a group of 6, and had a very enjoyable meal, when dessert time rolled around and our Chocolate Fondue was made, we were brought out a small plate of dipping items, and 1 cheesecake. Printed on the menu each meal was to come with cheesecake for dipping. Our waitress (who was great by the way) said it is their policy if 1 person orders the meal, it comes with 1 cheesecake, if 2 people order it comes with 1 cheese cake. After involving the manager he brought another slice of Cheesecake. For a meal that cost over $200 I don't feel we should be penny pinched over a tiny piece of Cheese Cake. In the future I would recommend The Other Fondue place. They bring you any additional items for dipping, veggies, fruit, pound cake to consume the rest of your Cheese dip, or Chocolate.

We have always liked going to Forever Fondue and are so pleased with their newest creations. The menu had been updated since we last ate and it was wonderful. The service is, as usual professional and complete. Thanks for another flawless dining experience!

Don't waste your time or money. After many hours of research and time spent on finding the perfect places for dinner for our trip to the San Diego area I thought I'd found a good deal with Forever Fondue. We had a coupon for 1/2 a bottle of wine, reservations and had read decent reviews online. After watching the sunset along the water we showed up at 7:40 for our 8:00 dinner reservation. The restaurant was only about half full, but we still didn't get seated until about 8:15. We were hungry and ready to place our order for drinks right away. The woman who sat us said that our waitress would be right out to take our drink order in a couple of minutes. Our waitress didn't show up at our table until 8:30. It took until 8:45 for our bottle of wine to be delivered to our table and another half an hour for our appitizer to come out. We anticipated a nice relaxing evening with wine and great food, but with all of the waiting we soon grew agitated. We finally got the broth for our main course delivered to our table at 9:45! Once it finally heated up we ate quickly and told them to cancel our dessert because we had enough time to make it back to San Diego for dessert at Extraordinary Desserts (the best decision we made because our dessert there was AMAZING!). The reason they gave us for our delays was that they are normally slow on Sunday evenings so they only had two waitresses on duty and the manager was acting as the hostess and bartender. The restaurant was by no means busy, but still half full! There should have been at least four waitresses working in order to minimize the delays. We were seated close to the door and if you didn't have reservations they began turning you away after we were seated. I guess they at least did that part right by not continuing to seat all of the walk-in guests even though those of us with reservations still had to wait long amounts of time for service. Needless to say, we will not be going back to Forever Fondue in La Jolla EVER again. There are plenty of other amazing restaurants in La Jolla - I would definatly check out any one of these instead!
