Chin's Szechwan Cuisine
Attentive waiters serve traditional Szechwan specialties at Chin's Szechwan Cuisine. Tea sets are on display in the simply decorated dining area. Tables are covered in white cloth and set with fine dishes. Pot Stickers top the appetizer menu, served with a homemade chili sauce. From the entree menu, try one of the spicy selections like Ku Ting Crispy Shrimp which batter-fried shrimp sauteed with walnuts in a spicy sauce. Not particularly fond of spicy foods? The menu has marks by each item that the chef can prepare in a mild fashion.
Chin's restaurants are the best Chinese food in North County! We've been to all of them; Encinitas, Carlsbad, two in Oceanside, and the newest at the old Baker's Square location in San Marcos. The food is equally good at all of the locations, but the decorations at the El Camino Real location are the best and the associated bar has karaoke ;^)
This is a superb Chinese restaurant. The three-flavor sizzling rice soup is one of the most exquisite, savory soups around and the flavor is memorable. I agree that the Hon hon shrimp (or the Naked shrimp) is like eating candy, as is the Tangerine beef, but I doubt that the cook could turn out a bad dish. This is worth many visits and will provide a lot of left-overs to take out and enjoy again. I would go there regardless of the service or ambience because this restaurant fulfills the essential three requirements of Chinese cuisine: flavor, flavor, and flavor. But as it turns out, the management throws in superb and friendly service and a surprisingly pleasant ambience as extras- just so much the better to enjoy!
This is the place I love to go for Chinese food. The Hon Hon shrimp is incredible, as is the Plum Tree Beef. My girlfriend also loves the Wonton soup, but pretty much everything we have ever had there has been terrific. Highly recommended!
