Oldie but Goodie......Great Breakfast and amazing hand Squeezed Juice... We love it. My family has been going to Champions for the past 20 years; it is a true Escondido Staple. Parking is bad on Grand Ave, so plan ahead, car pool if you can. I personally love the corn-beef-n-Hash with eggs. Great Prices but bring CASH that is all they accept.

Fantastic service and food. The only way that I could be happier would be if they served a shrimp and corn Chowder. I'm sure that with the seasons changing, the the aroma of a good chowder would really bring the chowder lovers of Escondido in. Happy, judging by your spelling I would not trust your opinion. How Un-European of you. Bad Clown.

Champions is a basic diner atmpsohere. The food is great and of good value. Dinner's start at $6.95. The turkey is excellent and fresh roasted they claim. They do give you a dentist cup of cranberry sauce with the turkey. The crowd is mostly eldery and the lunch crowd. Not to many young people eat here except me. I would give this place 5 stars but they only accept cash and since this is the 21st century this practice is outdated.

Great place to eat! Try the eggs benedict for breakfast, it's the best eggs benedict I have ever had! It is made with homemade gravy and it is so good. Love the atmosphere too! Service is good and very friendly.

Ive only visited here once and i like the place a lot for it history. The food here is definitely better then your average Denny's. The portions are bigger too .....way bigger. The staff I found is really friendly. I ordered the Denver Omelette (which came with home style potatoes and bread) with a soda. With tip it was about 11 dollars. Be sure to bring cash with you cuz they done take credit cards. there register is probly the coolest thing about this establishment it must be from the 1940s. Its defitely a sight to be hold. I really want to go back and see how there lunch is.

Not only is the atmosphere friendly and energetic the food is outstanding. No where else can you go for a home cooked meal outside your home [I guess if you can even get that at home!]. The service is great and the waitresses are hilarious. There is a trio of sisters, a funny blonde and a nice brunette, the boys in back do a great job on cooking and the boss is always willing to help, cooking in back, waiting tables, whatever needed the group really help each other out. The weekends get busy so they have extra help, usually two busgirls [who are somehow related to one of the waitresses] and a cashier who seems to be a bit scarce when they need her. They make you feel at home and it’s a place to go where there a lot of regulars and when you go back often enough they remember what you eat, what you drink and what extra stuff to bring you. Their menu selection gives good variety. Breakfast, fresh corned beef, the best omelets with the freshest of ingredients, sweetest pancakes, homemade waffles cinnamon rolls. Okay the cinnamon rolls are a must, you can substitute a cinnamon roll at no extra charge instead of toast and if you haven’t had one of their cinnamon rolls you really haven’t lived. They will also substitute fruit, cottage cheese, and tomatoes instead of hash browns. They bake their own biscuits and cook up fresh turkeys and roast beef. The lunch menu is your typical sandwiches, hamburgers and salads but the difference with here is the freshness and quality of food you are getting. The best corned beef sandwich in all of San Diego! I have been going to Champions since it opened and I’ve always had great experiences, otherwise I wouldn’t go back at least once a week if not more. Great food, great service, and great time. But go early because they get busy and are only open from 6-2 Monday through Friday, Saturdays 6-1 and Sundays are closed!

Still the same after 20 years
By ,
When I was growing up our church group would go there for our birthday's. If you sent a certain amount they would give you cinnamon rolls and the birthday person would get to take them home! After 20 year a group of us went and it was the same good food as we all remembered! Glad somethings don't change!
