Then, indulge in the Grilled Salmon entree in grape leaves with yellow Finn Potatoes and Fennel-Mushroom Ragout Runs. The wines are sold only on the premises.
My friend and I were staying in Carlsbad, so dining here was a natural choice, and as it turns out, a good one. We had both dinner and lunch here, and while it was a little pricey (but not out of the norm for Carlsbad), The food at both meals were great!.. And it was all quite flavorful, and really filling...great staff lots of wine ...very very pleased!
This restaurant is at the very least an AWFUL place to go. Mammoth in size -- When my friends and I were there last Sunday 6/12/11 it had a total of ten people eating there in this massive size. Cavernous loud cold and echo-ey...there was absolutely NO EXCUSE for the poor service we received. I ordered the only dish listed as THE HOUSE SPECIALTY (stuffed shrimp $28.95)--the 'colossus-sized' shrimp honestly weren't even large and there were 4....and it was so dry as to be INEDIBLE! DISGUSTING.
I sent it back and asked for the same dish to be FRESHLY MADE. (the first try felt like it had been sitting there for HOURS) The second time it was basically edible! Is this what I paid $28.95 for??? The only decent thing was the onion soup and that was the cheapest thing on the menu.
WE were completely UNDERWHELMED by this high priced restaurant that PRETENDS to be a French restaurant and IS IN NO WAY !!!!!
It turned out to be a $50 TOTAL FIASCO! Don't waste your TIME or MONEY! YUCK!!!
We bought a $100 voucher for $50 for this restaurants through signon san diego. II am no where near a picky eater and this was terrible. The waitress was pleasant, the wine, not good. We decided to shoot the works for starters and go for the seafood combo appetizer for $17.95. Everything was deep fried, which I love, but this was a soggy, gooey mess. so..I got the wedge salad, which was the highlight of the meal. Hubby got one of the specialties, which is the stuffed shrimp...rubber stuffed with playdough..not even edible. I asked for the ribeye which they were out of..so opted for the new york strip. Oh and when we got our entrees they asked it we wanted bread..hard and cold..again..that and my salad wud have been plenty. The steak was cooked properly but lacked any flavor..don't they even put a bit of salt on it?? The garlic sauce with it almost made me throw up...I was feeling ill..so went outside while the choc torte was prepared...30 minutes later they broght a brick of a choc cake..looked like cooked in a coffee can..no flavor..we ate the ice cream on the side and left, feeling really cheated.
Sunday brunch is spectacular. The champagne is served in large glasses, giant selection of a variety of foods, and exceptional service. I was quite impressed with the omelet and pasta stations. They let you pick all the ingredients and portions yourself, presenting you with a delicious masterpiece of your design. The seafood however wasn't as fresh as it should have been and the quality of desserts could have better. They definately need to add more chocolate! The overall experience was great and I'll definately go back for more. Don't forget about the Mexican spread hidden on the patio. Delicious!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...The salad was watery they brought out my dinner before I finished my salad..The service was very poor, I shoud have realized something as when we arrived it was almost empty..Bob
I recently moved back to California from Virgina and while it has taken me time to adjust to the changes Bellefleur is definitely a welcome one. On the four occasions I have been I've never had to wait. The wait staff is always prompt in addressing customer request. The general manager has always stopped by just to say hello, make sure the meal was enjoyable and even offer suggestions. One week I went three days in a row. The ambiance is calm and inviting. Whether dining alone or hosting an event Bellefleur is definitely the place to sit down and enjoy yourself without breaking the bank. PS: You have to try the Sunday brunch!!!!
Where do they come from? All these so called
'service industry' employees who know so little about service.

Our friends took us here for Easter Brunch. While the price was bit more that we're used to it wasn't unreasonable. The waitstaff was professional and courteous.
The food (buffet) was wonderful!
We were seated in a large room that is used for parties. Loved the decor.
Must try this restaurant and put it on your frequent dining list. The space itself is vast. The winery has moved out but they still carry the namesake wine and have the barrels in the beautiful (non) banquet room for prosparity. The menu will please a party of 10 with diverse appetites; easily. The food is very good and a pleasing presentation. The service is friendly even through their very bustling lunch rush. The secret is to try them at dinner. For starters, you can get a reservation time YOU want. Then, when you want to park it doesn't take 4 laps around the block (outlet malls are busy during the daylight hours). The restaurant is absolutely romantic at night, the waitstaff is pro, prices reasonable and the wine selection competitive with the five star restaurants. Try this more than once. I bet you'll be back.
